Cyber Fashion

A super quick late night post because I just can't resist. This is another gift that I picked up at Alpha Point the other day. I mean wow, is this creative or what? Now I can't imagine wearing this all the time, but it is definitely IMPRESSIVE. I zipped over to Aeon Flux which is now a metered role play combat sim, tried to find the rules to no avail and took my chances for a quick snapshot. I did run into someone, but she was friendly and I told her my story in IM so I think I am good with the powers that be.

You just never know when you might really need an outfit like this! *wink*

The Month That Was April

Click on the collage for a high rez version.

I had so many great photos to choose from this month, it was difficult to decide which to include. In the end practicality often won-- what fit best in the collage program's rectangles :D.

Onwards to May!

Weekend Plans

If you love being one of the first to see new releases, you might want to petition for a spot in the Liberty City Fashion show that happens at 1 pm SLT.  This is my audience outfit. Zero scripts and under 1000 ARC. I could have done better but I do like hair and eyelashes :D. I am excited about seeing the new releases and the build -- and how well my new computer does in the visually complex and most likely laggy environment.

From the notecard:

IMA Inc and Liberty City are holding an exclusive event where we take you through the beautiful creations of the designers on this beautiful sim made by the talented Mo Miasma.

IMA Inc and Liberty City  would be honored to have your presence at this futuristic spring extravaganza where all 18 designers on sim have galvanized. The end product is a show like no other.

This is an exclusive event and numbers will be restricted, therefore it will be necessary to submit your RSVP to Ananya Mai direct.

To rsvp, please send Ananya Mai a nc titled "Liberty City Futuristic Spring Extravaganza - you name".  You will be added to the Liberty City Official group.

I must also point out that the incredibly talented builders Frasha Boa and Oggy Bonetto from Abiss have made a custom build for this landmark show which rumour has it... maybe available soon on the market so please watch this space!

Walk With Me

Warm nights, gentle ocean breezes, and if we are lucky -- a partner by our side. This sophisticated yet saucy dress is the current VIP group gift from Indie Rose. The stitching on the bodice accents the pattern in the sheer tiered skirt -- both ladylike and a tiny bit naughty.

Happily, it coordinates perfectly with this new collar and earring set from Aluinn. The 237 prim neck piece is finely detailed and manual mod (yeah) so no script guilt is required when wearing. Both chest and spine attachment versions are included for easy styling. The double pierced earrings balance the design very well, not overpowering the showcase piece of the set.

Spring Choices

It is a beautiful day. Spring, for some of us anyway, is working its way towards summer. That calls for frilly and fun outfits that show off skin -- hopefully smooth from a day at the spa. This cute new release from Elemiah Design may just fit the bill. The ruffles are in two parts, so you could wear it shorter with leggings; choices good!

Of Places Lost

I spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon going through my photo op landmarks. I am not sure how many I have, but I deleted close to fifty -- places no longer in our world. Some I will very much miss. I wasn't ready to say goodbye. But life moves on, whether corporeal or virtual and we each have to find our own paths and sometimes make new ones.

In my journeys I found two new environments, one a complete redo of a sim, one a new shopping district in a fantasy theme. And, I found this very pretty and free dress when I materialized at Alpha Point. It is on the bridge to Omega Point. Sadly perhaps, Omega Point was gone yesterday afternoon and still only blue sea at this early morning hour. I don't know the story, but if you haven't visited this impressive spot, you definitely might want to.

My photo locale of the wee hours of the morning is Empyreal Dreams; Barbee is alas no more.

Not Always a Rock Star

One of my readers mentioned to me not long ago that you never really know what Chic will be up to. That is true; I am glad. I believe in diversity. And while I like to think that Chic and I, the typist, have quite a bit in common, sometimes I wonder. She is definitely braver than I. She wears things I never would -- even if I could travel to times and places unknown AND look as good as she does. Still it is fun to follow her explorations. I enjoy with the rest of you.

This morning I decided to make a look that was definitely NOT Chic, to break away from both of our comfort zones. The theme was a little geeky, a little lost waif, a little retro. I had planned to take a photo at a well known bakery but in my explorations of the eve, one place lead to another as they often do in our virtual world and I ended up at MMGraffiti's.  I had been to the shop before, but it was in another location then or at least looked immensely different than it does now. I remember stalking the lucky board for a long while in order to claim a chalk board easel *wink*.

This evening I found the shop once again by inspecting a fence I admired. It lead me here and I must say the choices of fencing are very nice and extremely inexpensive. Should I get my plot in the bayou sometime soon, I will definitely be back for some yard decor. Just before leaving I spotted this little house, peaked inside and knew that I had to take my photo here. The details are a dream, lovingly made and very much like a richly textured doll house.

You can buy the house and the furnishings separately and while they are not low prim, they are perhaps what you might call "smart prim" in that you get a lot of design for your prim "bucks". The toilet plunger is in theory $1L and of course I was going to buy it (one never knows) but the vendor wasn't vending. Perhaps it will be when I return for fencing. Update: I received a note from the designer and you touch each color of plunger you want to purchase. Well, I bet YOU could have figured that out. LOL.

But while I was over inspecting the housing posters I spotted a set of color change plates as a gift. Yeah! We all like those.

I haven't opened them yet, but I am sure they are both lovely and useful as the whole shop is very quality oriented.

So if any of this looks like you, drop by and do a little shopping. Support our content creators!

Of Dark Nights and Ladybugs

I could have entitled this post "Treatise on Inventory", but that might have scared you away. True I do have a couple of thoughts on the stuff we accumulate in our virtual lives. Even though they are merely pixels, they take up room somewhere in cyberspace.

The main point of this post, however, is to show you the newest release from Blue Blood, or at least part of the set. There are always so many choices with Ghanima's designs that getting dressed becomes an adventure. In this case I was compelled to journey over to Viewer 2 territory (Kirstens as I had major issues as well as dislikes with the official viewer) in order to get all the attachments and layering that I needed for this styling. I mean who wants to wear just ONE ladybug pastie? :D.

One of the things I like about Blue Blood designs -- aside from the handmade aspect -- is that they seem to bridge many genres. To me, this looked a bit sci-fi and so I ventured over to Insilico for this photo shoot, somewhere I hadn't visited in a long while.

And that leads to my pondering of the eve. Stuff. Most of us have quite a bit of it. It is difficult not to collect stuff if -- a. you like to shop or hunt, b. you are a content creator, c. you are a blogger. My ladybug pasties are from long, long ago for example and I wasn't sure I would even have the occasion to wear them again, but they were so cute -- I surely didn't want to toss them. And see? A perfect, if quirky pairing.

And here is my inventory question:

I have been housecleaning once again lately although I admit I have become delayed in my building of a swamp shack and the textures I have been creating for it. Still, I was at 26,456 on my last log in -- much less than many of you out there *wink*.

When I logged into Kirsten's viewer, I had an inventory of 25,000 even. I did a search to see if I could get that number up, but no. So, dear readers, I am asking you in the know -- did inventory controls actually go into effect? And if so, why wasn't it all over the feeds?  When I logged back in on my old style viewer my items appeared again in total. A mystery.

Town and Country

.

Opposites do attract. My outfit is very much Who's That Girl city; my new (and free) country cottage is very Thomas Kinkade. Put them together and you have a great Town and Country magazine look.

Here's the scoop from top to bottom.

These je suis divine sunglasses are just out. They come with a color change hud for the metal filigree. Glow, positioning, script removal and more can be accessed through the same hud.

No doubt about it, these are Rich Girl glasses *wink*.

Click the photo for a closer look!

Also new are these *Boho* Boots from *LpD*. The boots come in all sorts of luscious neutral mixes with grays and taupes being my favorites.

With ten choices to pick from I am a little embarrassed that I am showing you the plain black version -- but a stylist needs to go with the theme. Never fear, you will see other colors on these pages soon!

The boots are all one piece, worn on lower leg, manual mod (my favorite) and come with both Viewer 2 alphas and invisiprims.

I can picture these with leggings and an over-sized slouchy tunic; ah the comfort.

My personal find of last eve is this great house and garden from LuxiStyle. This My Refuge unfurnished home comes complete with all you see here, plus a fireplace with burning logs.

It fits exactly on a 512 lot and comes with rezzer and a pad to lay out and get your rezzer positioned just right (a great idea).

You get lawn, garden, trees, grass and roses as well as a cute cottage with loft. The house and garden weigh in at 73 prims so you still have some for decor if you live on a 512.

Since the front garden is completely enclosed, you could place this in the sky as floating.

A very nice gift, you can rez the for sale version (with furniture) HERE. The free version is nearby in a box.

Slow Sexy Number

Fantasy. It's a good thing -- at least in my estimation. It let's us explore and learn; it let's us create.

What's a gal to do in an empty 1930s night club, but put on a slow sexy number and sing. There are of course TWO "slow sexy numbers" in this scenario; we have the song your mind is playing in the background as you read this and we have the new  Sarah Jane Bustier Bodysuit from Sn@tch. A feminine print with great detailing, it bridges the gap between naughty and nice and does it in style. Lots of colors come in the fatpack.

My backdrop is the great Piano Bar Dream Scene from Garden of Dreams, an amazing hunt gift from sometime back, happily revisited. My microphone prop which comes complete with animations not shown here is from the lucky board at Libber's Guitar Products. A modern prop is a slight incongruity, but after all -- it is merely a dream.

Of Spring, Bunnies and Eggs

It is the bunny and egg weekend, and beyond that the shopping is great!  With a host of sale groups in force over the next two days, there is pretty much something for everyone. Two bound to be favorites are this great top and dress set from .: Acid & Mala Creations,  specially priced for group members. And even better -- well for those of us that usually live in pants -- you can get a huge fatpack of the tops for a very, very low price on Super Bargain Saturday. I was over there this morning and a line for the vendor was evident *wink*.  All layers are included so you can actually wear this without the main prim piece and tuck into a peasant skirt or whatever. I like multipurpose designs!

Another great find with a holiday flare is this cute Easter basket with brown eggs (my favorite) and carrot chewing bunny. It is a gift from Baffle.  And in case you have last Fall's group gift sandals from G Field, they go perfectly with the top or dress.

Pretty in Periwinkle

This was an easy week for me primarily because my closet doesn't overflow with periwinkle choices. Happily one of the few items available was a Victorian day dress that I still wear fairly often. I found a perfect, ladylike pose and here you have the results.

Photo taken at Noctis - New Toulouse Algiers .

As a side note and for those of you who read this blog daily rather than weekly, I completed this post on Monday, several days before I spent so much time in New Toulouse. I actually don't remember why I journeyed over there for this photo. I do know that I found Noctis by accident. It is SO interesting how the world works.

Night Magic

This dual purpose post of the morn is mostly to update you on the New Toulouse Egg Scramble hunt which I posted about last eve. But first up -- and especially for the fashion feeds -- is this fantastic new gift hair from DURA. Many thanks to I AM RICH for posting on this and to the feeds for letting us keep up with the news by scrolling *wink*.  Simply great hair and free to group in a three color pack. I have also been working on my night and dim lighting photo skills trying to get rid of that nasty facelight glare that I see on so many photos (mine included). Getting there.

And here is a bit of an update on the egg hunt. I returned this morning and of course found many more eggs. These are only a few of the many items you can find in the hunt. There are also hats, rugs, a full avatar, a fun little boat -- and the list goes on. Special thanks (and a plug in the photo) to Pocket Gardens who I am pretty sure sent me the info on the hunt. I found a few of the gifts from there and love the spiky plant!   I am indeed also in lust with New Toulouse Algiers and Bayou and have been doing my best to keep myself by buying a lot in the bayou *wink*. So far my resolve has held. I will be returning for more photos. There is a humorous story that goes along with all of this, but that is for the PERIWINKLE post late this eve.

If you are going hunting and know how to change your Windlight settings, I suggest using "foggy" as it make for a very magical journey.

On the Bayou

Just a very quick (sometimes things just flow) post to let you know that there is an egg hunt going on in New Toulouse. I think I have done about half of the hunt. It is VERY easy, lots of fun and the exploring is simply great. I have no idea about the prizes; they may be great, they may be silly -- but I am having an EXCELLENT time. So I quickly changed into my voodoo gown (what else would you wear in the bayou?) and took this lovely shot. Honestly, I am not sure how I missed this part of the area -- OR it may have changed since I last explored. Either way, come on down and grab some GIANT eggs!

From the notecard:

Explore rural New Toulouse. Stroll through romantic Algiers. Roll up your pants and slog the lush bayou. There are beautiful eggs hidden throughout. If you see one, grab it and enjoy not only the lovely unique eggs but many fabulous freebies therein.

****** Starting Locations ******

Head North from the train station into pastoral Algiers, where many beautiful eggs await.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/New%20Toulouse%20Algiers/62/91/26

From there, grab a notecard from one of the many signs :D.

City Streets 2

Along with the extremely cute Ronsem gift featured in my last post, there is also a fun set of sculpty unisex baggies. If this is your style, they would be a great addition to your wardrobe. Find the sculpty paw print (in this case pinkish) at the store to garner this nice hunt prize.

This is definitely a more tomboyish look than I was wearing before, so some new accessories came into play. I also may have found a way to add shadows to my photos. This was a quick try at the process I thought about when glaring at the street with absolutely NO footprints. Now and then I still really want those shadows. So more experimenting is in order. :D

City Streets

I have been a fan of Ronsem for a long while --  almost a year being as they are celebrating a first anniversary.  And with that anniversary comes a new gift, this great unisex tunic-sweatshirt. This is definitely something I would wear in real life!  OK, no shoes; I am a barefoot gal.  Find the vendor on the wall near other past freebies. While you are there, you might want to also pick up this cute blond hair (gift bag on a table) and the current hunt item (coming up in the next post).

To finish off my very cool new look, I added some comfy sweats from Paradisis, jewelry from KOSH and I even switched to a pale version of Tuli's ZOE skin.  Maybe blonds do have more fun! The tribal tattoo is a new release from J.E.M.

I found my photo shoot spot of the morn in the deep recesses of my landmarks folder. Not in "photo ops" where it should have been, but jumbled up with stores and sandboxes and the like. I cannot remember finding the City of Concord, but it is a great backdrop. A two sim complex, it is light role play with visitors welcome. Residents can drive the streets so watching out for cars and those in Drivers Training is a good plan *wink*. Other than that, it seems very safe.

Electric Fireflies

When offered a choice of an evening featuring outdoor seating or one confined by walls, I will almost always opt for the open air venue. Fresh breezes, salty vapors and twinkling lights combine well with  philosophy, laughter and wine. This new summery release by Kazoo features an asymmetrical off the shoulder look. It comes with a small puff sleeve which I chose to omit. Wear it with one sleeve, both or neither; the tiered skirt flows nicely in the breeze.

It is offered in a variety of colors including pastels and neutrals.

About Your Stash

A new hunt starts today. I am guessing you can tell the theme from this photo *wink*.  Mudhoney's is the starting point; 4:20 is the kickoff time. This is the *Stash Bash* and you are looking for baggies full of -- ah, "oregano". The bags are very easy to find, the prizes very nice. Sure to be a favorite is the Hookah Skybox, one of the prizes from The Sea Hole.

The skybox is roomy and weighs in at 67 prims with all the furnishings. The textures are luscious and the hookah is big --- really, really big!  LOL.

My personal favorite part of the abode is the garden window with dancing particles. So pretty, and it gives you a view even when the skies might be less than picturesque.

Another housing option from the hunt and one with fewer prims is this Love Shack from Mia Snow. A beach house with an open airy feel, it comes complete with accessories including ash trays with "cigarettes". The decor  items are included in the prize pack separately so you can add some retro memorabilia to your current house if you wish.

There are clothes too of course. My outfit is from Sn@tch and comes with long peasant skirt. I opted for just the pants; much better for the hookah and those pillow poses. (Sash is by MALT and not part of this hunt.) This nicely detailed necklace is from Ducknipple. You can join the group to get hints if you need them. Just click on the hunt sign.

So get your groove on and start hunting for those baggies!
