Virtual Updates
* The ARCADE appears to be gone but it has seemed that wss true before and then was not. However -- the sim is very dark on the map now and has an adult rating with a closed to the public block ^^ so it seems likely that the rumor is true this time. There hasn't been much of interest to play for lately but it certainly was fun in the old gacha days.
* Most of the free retail stores in ANISE are filled now but there are some in the back available if there are any creators looking for a smallish space (large ones are taken as far as I could see). THESE ARE FREE.
* Lots of complaints on the forum about Tilia support and cashing out issues.
And as we left our heroine last week:
* She had still not received a 1099 form from the folks who emailed with ASSURANCE she would get one via postal mail if she did not pick up the digital version. So it looks (to me) like there were three 1099 emails that went out - one from Linden Lab, one from Tilia (only a few got those) and the bogus phishing one that "I" received. Such a bad plan all around. Hopefully not too many folks got caught in that mess.
* She has been working playfully (still some angst now and then of course) over in Kitely where unbeknownst in her plans has apparently been remaking the Machinima Open Studio Project for the fourth or fifth time. After a fair amount of confusion and continuous Win10 sleuth updates (and we ARE talking continuous) she managed to revive the Kitely sim she left in the 2017 era. She had not purposely "parked" it but it had been saved. It is now a homestead region with 15,000 land impact.
That land impact goes a LONG ways as many items are charged a deeply discounted land impact rates - like ONE. The items on display are a mix of prim and mesh builds along with a fair amount of newly uploaded "old" items -- some from her gacha days. She has been pleased to see them out and about again. So far there are three full region levels and likely there will be a fourth. The three almost filled have used up 6K of the 15K land impact.
Finding forgotten builds has been part of a daily exercise. The REALLY old stuff is long gone of course but over a decade of work still available is a LOT of work to wander through. Some things work better in Kitely and some better in SL but it is fun to be able to make 256 meter cubes. Super tiny things are possible too but she generally doesn't need that ability.
The plan with Kitely has nothing to do with making money but with offering some better quality than the norm items to the folks that are there or may want to BE there in the future. New pieces uploaded are only available to Kitely residents and not the hypergrid travelers. And no additional work is appearing on the Market. This it is hoped will promote (eventually) inworld shopping there too.

Day Two working on importing my Pottery Shop gacha from 2019. Good to see it again :D |
* The FS Opensim viewer is the latest FS PBR viewer with a few changes and a few missing abilities -- so it works for both platforms. The keyboard driver is careful to not have both virtual worlds open at the same time as that has caused problems in the past --- and after a week or so discovered that running Glary Utilities a LOT helps (partly that Win10 sleuth update thing). When that is part of the process both platforms open and load almost instantly -- so a good tip to try if YOUR virtual experience hasn't been the best of late.
* Happily there has been some pretty jewelry to show you and while it took a few days and making my own go-to PBR EEP setting the photographer is no longer in knuckle chewing mode with the PBR. Things are working much better than a year ago. Hopefully even more will improve over time. There are still a few jarring issues like unlit rooms looking like daylight and sometimes blue walls but those things too may eventually get worked out -- or work arounds discovered.
