Chic at Phil's Place

The desert changes its mood with the seasons. Monochrome and silent in winter, harsh and barren in summer, welcoming as the first bits of greenery peak from behind rocks and climb out of crevasse.

Fantasy Faire is officially over although the sims will remain up for another week. The builds will turn to pixelated dust and the sims are retrieved and wiped to become palettes for future creators.

Sanoria was created at LEA6 and its remnants remain there. It is truly my favorite place on the grid. Shops are gone of course but the paths, relics and flora remain to be reborn again for others to visit.

The story quest will move over as well as a small treasure hunt. We only need the Sanorian sky for its rebirth to become complete and hopefully the new Windlight system will be finished soon. Meanwhile it is my peaceful place from the hustle and bustle that sometimes becomes my life.

My outfit is also from Cosmopolitan, the adorsy - Demi Top and pants with color change options. The pants are cropped and banded with a keyhole opening on the sides, a mix of casual and feminine with a good fit and plenty of detailing.

I have had this hair from EMO-tions for some time now, winter if I remember correctly. I loved it but didn't have anything to pair it with. Happily it was a perfect accompaniment to my new styling.  Look for Carol.

Almost together I had a time finding a finishing touch necklace. Finally I tried on the Meva Nani Necklace Silver from last Fall.

For some of us the days are getting warmer. My real life air conditioner was inaugurated for the year yesterday.

Time for shorts and halter tops and smooth skin a showing.

I really like Paparazzi's photo backdrops. They make life so easy!  My favorite I think is one from Christmas time last year, but they are all very nice and useful depending on your attire -- and interests of course.

This is the Townhouse Backdrop which includes the baby tree, lighting and some very convincing specular shin on the bricks.

In the foreground interest category we have Raindale's patio table and chairs set with texture change hud and an option with mini-light string.

The gals are all wearing free attire from NY Design.  On the left a super cute halter mini with a big texture change hud filled with lots of choices (group lucky chair). The Maitreya sizing fits eBody and eBody FREE.

In the center we have another lucky chair item with many texture choices by hud AND Slink shoes if those are your feet of choice -- or your alternative mesh body wears Slink :D. These are standard sizing items and the bangles come with.

It's Friday! Among other things -0- like the weekend coming, it signals that super fifty dollar long time event that many of us love.

From {what next} two versions of the Dahlia Drinks Cart. The dispenser gives lemonade to visitors with a choice of either regular or Bento animations. This is the tintable wood version; there is also painted white.

Individual pieces let you design your own decor scheme. This setup is nine land impact.

Fantasy Faire has a few more days left so it is a good time to visit if you haven't been over.

While there are plenty of wondrous fantasy outfits, decor and accessories to be had, not everything is in that mode. There are some items that are definitely crossover.

But for those that overlooked the Heidi ring set awhile back or just purchased one color, the gold version is out for Hello Tuesday!  These are really lovely with a great hud that let's you show and hide  individual rings.

From Artisan Fantasy a truly lovely Memorial set which includes benches. From a mesh maker's point of view this is exceptional work. Detail below.

My outfit really couldn't be prettier; feminine with rich details and understated tones the "Lothiriel" Gown - Faith from Senzafine. One of her bloggers from awhile back she somehow disappeared from the radar (or mine anyway) so I was especially happy to see her back -- and with such beautiful work.

I rarely get to wear these jewelry and hair accompaniments, that minimalist tomboy thing in my off hours -- but it was a pleasure to pull these out from my inventory!

Colors mix in a vivid dance of patterns. The Dreaming Thicket  Verbena Skirt and top with shawl combines femininity with hints of exotic places.

Many sizes and lots of color palettes we chose the warm tones of the desert. With plenty of sizes to choose from including standard sizing, we are both wearing Maitreya which fits eBody as well.  The skirt set (two pieces will also work for eBody free.


Armlets and bangles are from ::Bite&Claw::  and available in four tones.

One of my favorite shopping places for "guy stuff" is Man Cave. It is just SO "manly" :D.

The Taro oufit comes in both Belleza and Signature fits and may fit other male bodies too, so trying a demo is always wise.

Fantasy Faire is open for the tenth year and you are all invited!

There are places to explore, activities in which to partake, games to play and plenty of shopping with special vendors set up to donate your lindens to build a new hotel of the families of cancer patients in Kenya.


I was excited this year to be one of the WorldMakers for the event. Along with a leisurely strollable shopping experience, inquisitive folks can journey on a easy quest to learn the story behind the sim called Sanoria.



Find the artifacts, come close, touch --- and let them whisper the memories of the entities that once inhabited the land.  If you played A Steamy Mystery in Terradale, this is similar if a bit simpler!

It is not a surprise the the sim sponsored by The Looking Glass leads the way in design. Twelve steampunk ships can be found on the top level, six shops around the bottom perimater and the works of The Looking Glass in the main salon of Erstwhile Station, a very fun place to visit.


Erstwhile borders Sanoria and this builder had a joyous voyeuristic  experience watching Marcus plan, build, rethink and build anew. He is REALLY FAST!!!!  Lots of enjoyment there.

A big, BIG set of retro attire awaits you at the Baiastice booth at The Epiphany  Preppy, disco siren, club bunny -- they are all covered. So many to choose from, I picked my favorites.

At the top of my list is the fabric hat with extensive color hud, the exclusive special prize and fittingly so.  Add the earring and sunglasses (various colors available) and the black crocheted version of the One Shoulder Dress and you have the basics of my outfit.

Top the attire off with  these great boots with suitable sturdy heels and you have a great look.

I wore my alaskametro leggings (old and likely no longer available) as well as one of the brand new bangles from Kunglers (Elvira @ On9) to complete the look.

it only took a few seconds for me to recognize this new release form eXxEsS as great "hat hair". Pulled tight over the ears and flat on top it fits easily into a variety of head attire in a realistic way.  Best of all, you look great walking away :D.

With most of my Fantasy Faire sim completed, it was rest time. The set up sim, emptied of vendor buildings, the set uppad took on a quiet and introspective feel. The Windlight is the one I made for Sanoria, a desert expanse out of time and place with a storyline that curious folks can hunt for much like they did in A Steamy Mystery at Terradale.

I am happy with what I have accomplished. My goals varied I am sure from many of the creators taking part in the tenth year of the event. My first priority was to have a low-lag sim that would work for everyone without having to trudge through the mire.  With framesrates well over 100, I am very happy. Sanoria definitely isn't as showy as some of the other worlds being built, but the vendor spaces are roomy, shopping is easy and wandering the rock paved walkways can lead your mind to wondering.

It works for me.

Most of the builders I know lead a pretty solitary life. We are enmeshed in mesh -- or our Photoshop brushes or our animation programs; they become our companions. We chat now and then, often about upcoming events, failing events and all the drama that sometimes happens behind the scenes of our monthly venue schedules. So it is good when we feel the vision we were seeking has come into reality -- virtually of course.

While I am personally not thrilled with the new dual huds from some of the new TUKINOWAGUMA styles, I am VERY impressed with the amount of style choices included in this pack.  And  yes, the hair is still very avatar rendering cost friendly.

A new round of Cosmopolitan is underway where you can find:

the Giz Seorn Miley Dress.  This is the floral version with plenty of bright and pastel prints to choose from. Belleza, Maitreya and Slink fits. While a color change crotch pastie is included, picky gals will opt for some high cut applier undies for authenticity :D.  A solid version of the dress is also available.

Also at Cosmo, a very pretty new hair from  TUKINOWAGUMA.  Capece comes with a styling hud that let's you chose between different stylings. This comes with a two part hud again, and I can't say I love that new aspect. Then again I am not all that adventurous and kinda like my hair the same color on both sides :D.


Over at Shoetopia you can find these darling cork wedge sandals at the Amacci booth. Toe rings (there is a small metal one for both left and right foot turned off here) are optional and color change separately. Cork choices can also be made, so plenty of opportunity to coordinate with your outfit of the day.

A new food truck has arrived in town courtesy of the 22769 guys.  Plenty of tasty breadstuffs and of course COFFEE.  The truck is the rare in this multi-piece gacha set available at Gachaland (formerly Gacha Guardians).

On the go food immediately reminded me of the Belly Store gacha from MEVA awhile back. Wandering around my virtual storage locker I find the set; perfect! Now you might not be able find these in the gacha room at the shop as they are not new.  Still, fun to remember the days. Nope, I was wrong! Find them HERE and have some fun!

The Land of Rainbows Easter Hunt is almost over, so tomorrow's post is going out today :D.

The good news is that non-premium folks can now get in -- that's hasn't been the case before unless you were really lucky.  Expect to spend some time. There are 70 eggs and while most are out in the open and some quite large, there is a lot of ground to cover.

Items include lots of bunny themed goods which isn't really my thing, so I will show you a few of the great gifts you can find. There are a few that I missed even though I looked REALLY hard, but you should be able to find all of these shown.
