Blackout August Movement

Well I have obviously not been haunting the forums this month but it is still August and not much else has happened so this I guess is my   AUGUST wrap-up post.

Here is (supposedly) the original post.  I can't actually track it down --- or Google can't anyway.

And here happily is a post from the instigator.  Sadly the devs have once again changed the forums and at the moment I cannot link to the comment  directly so you get a screenshot.  Hopefully you can look at the original picture enlarged and read it OK.   It is fairly close to the beginning of the forum post.

And here is my comment to the movement creators post:

Just wanted to say thank you for posting.  I note that after several pages I am the only one so far doing this :D.

I didn't need to join the movement as I have been saying similar things for well over a year now  both here and blogging.  I have a lot of creator friends and know what is going on there -- and has been for a long while.

I officially retired at the beginning of the year (still have a store and Marketplace and do support when needed) and like so many of the folks on my friends list don't log in often. For ME that usually means checking in to blog other creators' products or exploring new places in the destination guide.

I am both happy and sad with my current SL life.  I am happy that I still enjoy photography, blogging and exploring.  I am sad that my long time model creating is over.   Many excellent  creators are pretty much retired now.  Some are hanging in there trying to be supportive (I did that for a long while) and some are still eating Ramen noodles so that they can pay their SL tier.

Each person needs to decide what works for them .

I am not going to comment on this thread further as I have made my position clear for a long while.

Hopefully a few folks will reflect.
