DNA - The Engine Room

It is truly an outstanding round at The Engine Room this season and I am happy to see the event getting back to its roots.  One great example is this Dirty Rat - SteamDNA Forge.  Now I am not sure what the forge is supposed to do. There is a mantis type creature in the glass enclosure so I am guessing it is extracting DNA (hopefully with no animals or insects harmed). 

It really DOESN'T matter to me, the work is so lovely. Details abound and there is more goodness on the far side giving the apparatus a pleasing look from all directions -- hence the middle of a shop would be an appropriate display area. 

The syringe is a gift that can be found near this month's new release.
