ALERT - Possible information Leak Through Tilia - UPDATED again

I can't believe this is legitimate and just left a post on the forums.  If it IS legit -- what were they THINIKING?  

Update if Blogger will let me. It has a tummy ache.  Rowan reminded us on the forums that Tilia is no longer a Linden Lab company. Thunes purchased Tilia awhile back and there was a meeting and we did know.  Bad girl, I forgot that. So while all the red flags are still there :D they are no longer in my mind waving at Linden Lab.  Leaving the post as it was.    Only changes a little bit :D

Saturday afternoon update: 

There are apparently (I have seen both now) two different 1099ish emails that went out.  The one looks more legit than the other but folks on the forum thread have contacted LL support as well as Tilia (no longer LL now) and THUNES (owner of Tilia) and will hopefully report what they find out.  I hope folks will take this seriously. Any way you look at it --- not good.   

sUNDAY EVE UPDATE:

I just heard from a well-know creator that they got yet a DIFFERENT 1099 email that had both wrong info and sketchy wording. Looks like there really has been an issue at TILIA. 

AND later: More info coming in about mistakes Tilia made and the mess it has made.  Obviously I am not naming names here, but ....

The email came in at 6 PM SLT.  

Red Flags? 

I didn't make enough this year to receive a 1099. I have NEVER received a 1099 from Linden Lab. 

It came with the salutation to my real life first name.

It came to the alt that processes credit through Tilia

Linden Lab (Tilia) has my address on file and everyone else's that processes credit so NO need to "verify".

Yes it is expensive to send out 1099 forms but they should only be sending to the folks that made them LOTS of money anyway.   

So beware.  No way and I clicking on that link and if this is ACTUALLY legit it is one of LL's biggest mistakes.  I will report if they verify this is legit.  

Info is still very mixed this early morning.  Since it "says" they will send you a 1099 in the mail that sounds like a good plan.
