And the Beat Goes On
From my forum post to keep you updated simply.
(AHH--- well this post was removed so I am very happy that I copied and pasted.)
I have a couple of comments and intel.
The group that was offered entry to ZOOM was Creators supporting Creators . I haven't used Discord since I left Sansar where it was ALL we had to communicate so I am pretty rusty on how it works. Salt is a moderator at the group and so supposedly you could ask for an invitation if you want to join. It is NOT apparently a group of "top creators" as there are beginners there also. So NOT elitist but perhaps a bit lazy on LL's part.
The talk about watermarks was apparently (again I was not there) from the audience and not from Linden Lab.

This Discord thing is a bit disturbing to me really. Once again taking things AWAY from Second Life. I have ideas how it might have been handled better but that really doesn't matter.
And so far as the AI part of the "new world", I spent a good portion of the late night filling out a Paypal form for a dispute (something I never ordered or agreed to was charged to me). After filling out the long and detailed form I received a "reply" this morning that had CHANGED what I chose for the reason of my complaint and asked me things I had already answered.
SO DOWN WITH AI. Any average IQ person working from home could do better.

While much of the SL forum thread on the upcoming announcement has gone into Lalaland, now and then there is a good thoughtful comment. I hope Linden Lab is paying attention. As I type this on Tuesday we haven't seen any official announcement.
Later addition: I found out Wednesday morning from a person who has been in the Creator group that it was definitely not by invite and was announced in many social media places. It became very popular and then needed to become a closed group because of some capabilities with Google. So that is the story on that. Granted from MY point of view it should have been announced in the SL official blog and the forums but again LL went outside the platform.
