Sophisticated Lady

Just a quick post before I go off to dreamland :D. I did finally get over to .hc&co., home of those great jeans I blogged this morn. While I was chatting with the owner/designer Heather Connolly, a wildcard came up on the lucky board and Heather was nice enough to alert me. I was busily typing as I sometimes do and completely missed that happy "?"s arrival.
I of course was VERY cool and didn't mention that I had left myself there earlier so that I could watch the board -- LOL. Ah vanity. The dress is super cute and sways like soft silk when you move. The style is feminine enough to remind you why you like being a girl, and the print is classic enough to remind you that being a "woman" is even better.
So drop by the 10 minute board from time to time and see if your letter comes up. Here's your TP.
Shown with some of my own bangles -- soon to be yours if you'd like when I reach that 1000th post in a few days. They are just part of a goodie box I have made up for you guys. I hope you like it.

Domesticity

Sometimes hanging out means a cup of tea and a plate of cookies with your buddies. Especially if you have a kitchen, but even if you just want to have some folks over for tea in the sandbox (yes, you really can do that -- us prim challenged folks are very creative at times), Belle Belle has a great new group gift out. See the extremely detailed kitchen organizer on my wall? That's it and it is a beauty.
My wonderfully textured jeans with primo cuffs came in a DSN pack this morning. The shop is .hc&co. and the product is "Basic Jeans - Light" which I am guessing means there are other colors to choose from. It's a busy morning for me, but I'll be heading over there soon to take a look around. My Gypsy waistcoat is new from Trubble and is perfect for showing off my colorful new tattoo from last eve. Shoes are corset wedges from She's So Unusual Shoes.
AND -- if you would like more kitchen goodies, you can zip over to the Belle Belle (group) Midnight Board and slap that puppy.
My desk is from the m.fox never ending goodies box :D.

Time Limited Goodies

Here are a few items of note that you need to get like lickety split! Both the cute top and the very nice short boots are A'Bomb's free items in the Sn@tch City hunt. There are also two items in douche bottles to purchase. They are easy to find and inside the A-Bomb store. The skirt is one of many, many prizes from Sn@tch :D.
There are simply tons of prizes -- both free and to purchase in the two sim complex. They are easy to find and wandering will get you a truckload of items to go through. I found quite a few that I recognized, so if you are an old timer and a Sn@tch - Retox fan, you may already have some of these gifts. But if you are a young resident or new to Sn@tch, they will likely be discoveries to YOU and that's what counts.
The A-Bomb top comes in three layers with the jacket choice being full length with ribbing.
Other favorite finds at Sn@tch City were these cute rose choker and corsage from Harlot. I believe the colorful bottle was very close by the store :D. Also shown above are one of several "bloomer" sets (I'd call them leggings) from Vth Column . The pack comes with both layers, two colors of striped legging as well as two sets of boxers which work for girls or guys. And the stripes? They really, really match on the sides. Something you don't find that often *wink*.
The Douche Hunt runs through the 31st.
The tattoo above is not from the Sn@tch hunt but out today for free until about 7 pm at Saint Of Ink. Find it in a giant vendor in the middle of the store. It is lovely.
All the poses shown here came from Posemaster, a new shop. So stop on by and take a look around. Most of the current pose sets are action themed.
Differences

This started out to be a post on new free skins and hair, and it still is; but in the process of taking this photo, I couldn't help but reflect on how different we all all. Each day -- or sometimes several times a day -- we can reinvent ourselves with new skins and hair, outfits and even shapes. We can explore ways of being that we would never try in our real world.
I doubt you will recognize anyone in their new looks, but all are in Tuli skins. The Goth gifts are for the group in case you missed your notices and in the big red mushroom with floating text behind the giant tree. Sami in the middle is in the current Picks gift. Find the reward poster on an easel in the front of the store. The gift is still from June, but if you didn't get it you might want to do that. Who knows when it will be replaced with a new item.
And yes, this was a "come as you are" party. No one changed for the shoot. We're supposed to be looking at their HEADS anyway :D.
Now let's see some close ups and talk free hair.
Benicia was the one that found the hair boards at " D!va ". There are two upstairs in the main shop. There are ALSO TP givers to other satellite shops. She didn't try all of them, but it looks like there is at least one board in each shop. Yeah. And so far they have all been different. So you can zip around and find ones that look like your style. The one she is wearing came from a RYOTAN LAND cart.
This is the lucky board prize from the ""D!va"" store at Marcos Mall. You'll need to fly up and follow your beam to get to the shop. The "Rina" prize comes with a pretty strawberry blond color called Amber, both in the same pack. It comes in versions both with and without the diamonds woven in. Very pretty. This is the current Tuli Picks Reward skin.
And here is a last minute addition, one of the hairs from the " D!va " main shop. Wow. Lots of lucky board free hair today. This version comes only in this Amber color, but in two lengths. This is the longer. The other is an updo similar in style. Meet Dion, Divine's RL sister. And where IS Divine these days? Too much RL is a "bad, bad" thing. *wink*
Xia's hair comes from the lucky board at ++AY.LinE++Ginza. There are two lucky boards. This style comes packed with a variety of lovely colors, so there is bound to be one you like. This is Tuli's Group Gift Goth skin.
Pick your favorites and watch those boards while you do email or read the fashion feeds :D.
And by all means, HAVE FUN!
And as an addendum, Xia had been over to Festivale and picked up the Vagabonds Poop Hunt gift -- along with yet more hair :D. Find the Roadkill Couch easily in the Vagabonds store. It comes with four poses including one along the top of the couch. They are poseballs and not menu but you can hide the balls with the /1hide command. SO glad that is sort of universal. Handy.
Ice Cream Colors

Two new hot lucky board prizes and some gifts for the weekend here. You've no doubt seen the = Hal*Hina = lucky board hair. I've certainly seen the ad posters :D. Well I'm here to tell you it is just as lovely as it looks. Two colors, brown and blond in two lucky boards. The numbers change ever 2 minutes so you have to have friends on speed dial if you want to tp them in *wink*.
The peachy outfit comes from the *LFS*=Lycee feelings shop=. The LB is five minutes there. It comes with a choice of layers as well as a top with toys in the pockets. An optional bow can be worn on the front strap.
My studio props are yet MORE items from the m.fox pack mentioned in this post. I'm definitely like a kid in a candy store.
And if you are into cutie girl accessories, be sure and pick up this ice cream backpack from :::[NEEDFUL THINGS . Find it in a default prim size box with descriptive photo on the ground floor of the shop.

Pretty Pretty Props

First of all an apology from me. I just realized after four hours that SL(R) in its wisdom had turned down my graphics to LOW after a crash last night. I knew my skin looked odd but couldn't figure out why. So these pictures are not near the quality that they should be. After a couple of hours of picture taking however, I am NOT starting over. Click any photo for larger versions. There is a lot to see. Here's the scoop.
Miabella Foxley is leaving SL and giving away some truly fantastic furnishing and props. These are just some of the wonderful items in the box of goodies. Everything is copy (n mod - nt) so you can add accessories to your home, shop or photo shoot as you need them. I never have to worry bout losing them out on the sandbox :D. Yeah!
I love the suitcases! And the radiator that steams :D. Really wonderful.
There are so many things in the box, I really can't show them all here. I haven't even unpacked them all. There are lots of beautiful books and accessories to add to your environment. Everything is lovely and works perfectly. So a giant THANK YOU to Miabella Foxley and many good wishes from us all. Also a big thanks to Callie Cline who tipped me (and a few thousand others) to this opportunity.
To get your box of goodies, just join the m.fox boxed group. The group will only be around until September 9th so time is limited. Go to the archives and pick up the box of goodies. If you can't find the group easily, it is listed in Miabella's profile.
My cute pajamas were a hunt gift from the Rha! store (NLA).
Props and Accessories

Props. I love them. Whether just for fun or simply beautiful, they definitely make a fashion shoot. Today I have a few to share that I've picked up along the way as well as a fantastic cornucopia of goodies that simply take my breath away. And yes, it's all free. Edit: Sorry, graphics card was set to low and it took me awhile to figure out the problem. Imagine how great everything would look with Windlight - LOL.
First up are some goodies that I picked up along the hunt trails. Some of them were hunt items and some simply freebies. My food bank grocery bag is from the clever -RC- Cluster shop. Find it in the freebies section upstairs. My strawberry ice cream sandwich was my gift of the day from the GatyaGatya Machine at [KUE!] . My hair is from Tiny Bird, a Poop Hunt Prize.
The cute black and white backpack is from .:TRoUBLeD ReBeL: (Poppy Hunt ends Aug 31st) and my bandanna let tie is one of three in a freebie pack at ::Like A:: . My luscious red pants and bandeau top are part of the latest Marleen gift from G&N Quality Design .
OK. Are you ready for this? Part two coming up soon.
MM Poses
Need some poses? This already paid out earlier today with 300 slaps. Get in on that second wave. Here's your TP.
Good luck :D
Hunts and All That Jazz
Posted by Chic Aeon in comment
I've been thinking a lot about hunts lately. Are they here to stay? With posters popping up seemingly daily, I'd say that is a given -- at least until the end of the year. Like many folks I went through the hair pulling " too much, too many, too little product" lament. It seems that content creators are catching on of late, and this is good news.
There are shop hunts, sim hunts and grid wide hunts. Each have their followers and their pluses. There are so many these days, hunters can pick their favorites or their themes and still get in half a dozen hunts each month with ease. For those that have hunt madness, there is most always a new hunt somewhere. What seems to have changed is the general quality of goods.
Just like the days of the fifty lucky chairs filled with &#@^, we have had some pretty time wasting hunts in the past. When you toss over 90% of the goods? This is not good. The best hunts get the most press. The better the reviews, the more people that join in. In the end, giving away something notable to 20,000 folks is better than giving away something less than great to a few hundred.
Personally, I never keep everything. I have a wonderfully diverse and large enough for me inventory. So, for me to keep something it needs to be well designed, well crafted and either versatile or so unbelievably different that I can't give it up. Still, I find my inventory growing by leaps and bounds these days despite my best efforts at culling.
This say A LOT. It says that our content creators are getting more skilled. It says they are getting more creative, and it says that they are sharing generously. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing economically? I'm out of that loop now and cannot comment with any first hand knowledge. I do know that many of us work -- whether paid or not, whether profit or debt laden -- to fulfill some creative urge. It could be sharing with folks we don't even know. It could be bringing beauty into our virtual world. It could be fulfilling our personal dreams.
We do it for our own reasons and ones that many folks will never understand.
Ivory Perfection

Porcelain dolls, fragile beauties, Gothic ladies of the predawn; Tuli has released a new skin tone of Hope in ivory. The makeups are similar to the Goth set, but the rosy undertones of the skin give them a different look and feel. Since Hope is my skin of choice these days, I was delighted to see this release. There are many artistic possibilities :D.
I took the new ivory Hope skin out for its first spin in today's gift release from hO wEAr. The delicate nature of the skin worked well with the oriental flowers. I added an old favorite hair from Magika (most likely retired). While the mico-mini skirt is more modern than traditional, I chose a place of history for my photo shoot, juxtaposing times. In the early dawn light, the glowing beauty shines.
My poses are from the Mela's kimono dollarbie set. Find it on the third floor near the three camping chairs.
Cleaning Up

Dove and Company throw a great party. The sim has been nearly full for most of the day, but the lag was manageable. I of course wore my almost primless hunt outfit and others did too. That helps. The gifts were great. As there are some very talented designers at Festivale, I wasn't too surprised. Shown here are a few more of my favorites. I just love the glow curtains from Zut! At only two prims counting the valance, I'll be using them often :D.
Along with lots of great poses a la last year, Tiny Bird has joined the event in a major way with five or more sets of hair. I admit to not finding one (sigh) and so who knows what might be in that poop package - LOL. Along with hair, there are some nice pale mod skins as well as some poses. It seems that Tiny Bird tried poses and Dove tried hair. While Dove's hair gets lots of points for originality, I think Tiny Bird won the contest *wink*. I am sure it was all in fun as it should be. The photos above feature both hair and poses from Tiny Bird. My personal favorite Kissy-Kissy hair has been well documented in my previous posts on the hunt. I have to admit it was difficult giving that one up in order to show you the others, but they are great too!
That's my wrap up of the second -- and hopefully not last -- Poop Hunt. Be sure and pick up your souvenir pooper scooper and pail in front of the LAP store. I now have a set for both years; let's see how many more can be added to the collection.
Go forth, have fun and SCOOP!
Festivale is the place to be this weekend.
Deep in Poop

I am happy to report that the Second Annual Poop Hunt has lots of items for the guys. Many gifts are unisex. Yeah! I did some unpacking this morning and coerces Wonder into a brief hunting expedition so that you could see a fellow in the pictures.
Our jeans are not part of this hunt, but our tees most certainly are and come with great worn out holes here and there. Very inventive.
Since most of the gifts are spread over the sim, I'm not going to tell you which gifts are shown in the photos. Just pick them all up and find your own favorites. I have more to show you and I'll be going back to get more when the rush lets up a bit. The paint print hands come on two layers. I actually liked the tan (undies layer) versions best, but my bare butt would be against some of the feed guidelines, so you'll just have to get your own to see. Lots of fun.

I will tell you that the great multipose block furniture is from Mudhoney. You probably guessed that already. There is only one poop from them to find; all three versions are in one gift. These are really great for either homes are photos. They adjust and the green one ever rearranges the blocks for the different poses. Magic!

While I had Wonder in my studio, I wanted to try out some of the props and poses available in this hunt. As you might imagine they were my personal favorite finds. There are several packs of poses including ones especially for guys. Girls can use them also of course.
There are at least two pose ball sets for couples. These are wild and fun and I feel very limber to say the least.

The hunt is officially on now. It has been UNofficially on for some time. Now that all the prizes are in place, here's a list of how many and by whom. If you want to find them all, you best keep up a count - LOL. There are LOTS.
SMUDGE - 3 Toilet Papers Out.
TINY BIRD - 9 TOILET PAPERS OUT
CHIKKA Designs - 2 Poops
Vanitas Vesture - 2 - 1 poop, 1 TP
PIG - 7 Poops
Moonshine - 2 TPs
LAP - 8 Poops
Mudhoney - 1TP
DECO - 5 TP
Gritty Kitty - 4 TPs
Sweet Antidote - 2 TPs
Masquerade Parade - 1 Poop
naith smit designs - 1 Poop
This is a Fawn - 2 poops!
Vagabonds - 1 Poop
Zut! - 1 Poop
That's 50 gifts to pick up -- all in one sim. This is definitely a not to be missed hunt with great gifts and fun decorations. Go forth to Festivale and hunt.
Poop Hunting?

The second annual Poop Hunt doesn't officially start for a couple more hours, but I wasn't the first one here when I arrived about nine. It's wild and funny and I yelled greetings to a few folks I knew even though I had no idea where they actually were :D. My pooper scooper and bucket (following photo) are from last year's hunt, but Dove assured us there would be new ones out in a bit. You can hunt without your accompanying paraphernalia of course. Latex gloves from a tattoo chair might come in handy here. *big wink*
You are looking for a few things, not just one. Brown "soft serve ice cream" poop with red bows as well as toilet paper with either red or yellow bows. There is actually one hot pink pile of poop and while I have a huge list of goodies in my recent tab, there are plenty more that I didn't find. So there might be something else containing prizes. Just mouse over anything poop related :D.
This isn't really a hunt; it is more of a gathering. There is so much poop and paper that it would be difficult NOT to pick up a lot of goodies. Most are out in the environs, but some are in the stores. I have only just begun to open my packages and they will need to wait until tomorrow, but I wanted to alert you to the party.
There are clothes of course and poses and hair as well as jewelry and furniture. I LOVE this Kissy Kissy hair. It is one of many from Tiny Bird. My very cute dress is from Chikka Design and the poses are of course from LAP. The pose above is called Bright Light So Pretty. There is a pack for "chubby" gals (which fit me perfectly) and a pack for guys too. Yeah!
Get on over to Festivale and have some fun. You have a week.
Chic out :D.

You don't need to be a parent or a child to have a great time collecting goodies at the upcoming Mother Daughter Hunt. You don't even need to be female, although most items are geared for that gender. Whether a mom or not, the designers have made sure that your personal taste is still covered. Dolly, mime, casual, dressy, neko and daring -- there are plenty of very nice prizes to find. The outfit above is the prize from Holli Pocket. It comes with a innocent white tank which is definitely balanced danger wise by the low, low (really LOW) cut pants. All that skin real estate is great for showing off tattoos. The ruffled cuffs add a bit of disco fever to the mix. Don't click that link yet though, the hunt doesn't begin until September 6. You will be looking for two colors of pink hearts, one marked mothers and the other for daughters.

The bathroom sink and vanity set is from ::Razzberry Inc. and the comfy low prim mother daughter sitting cushion is from *~*Sunshine Design*~* (many landmarks so I'm not sure which store is in the hunt). My cute and casual outfit is from KK's Designs . I so love waist wraps and it is a great color to go with other separates as well as into the fall. The pretty Innocence Anklet hales from LacieCakes and has a HUD for changing color, metal and gems. Finding a matching outfit is definitely not a problem. The Sansevieria plant that will be living in my stone house in just a bit is from Gumi's Flower Shop. At two prims it is a fantastic value.

Treetops Spa is giving away a lovely and detailed makeup table with settee, brush and animation. The daughter's prize is a similar set of of play makeup all for themselves. Take the teleporter at the landing point to get to the spa. Chicatique has mime outfits for both mother and daughter. Young, fun and very nicely done, you can wear this anywhere, not just for miming *wink*.

Jewelry, eyes, superbly creative ears, bright and fun tennies, there seems to be something for most everyone in this hunt. These are just a few of the items you could find. So bookmark this page and mark your calender for the 6th.
Explore *~ZcZ~* and find the Mother Cat outfit above. I do love purple :D.
Have fun!

Eclectic Newness
Posted by Chic Aeon in shopping

E! - Eclectic has some great new basics out this month. The Gothic Lace Vests and Shirts come in many colors and lots of layer choices. In the photo above I chose an undershirt layer for the long sleeved shirt and topped it with the vest. A touch of lace on the vest neckline gives a hint of girlish charm.
It's probably no surprise that my personal favorites include the tailored shirt with the low neckline. It's perfect for showing off jewelry such as my Parvati necklace from Rhiamon's Realm. Add a saucy mini skirt (mine is from the Covet dress at Pout) and some of the new capri fishnets and you have yet another look. You can even wear the fishnets alone if you are a brave gal. You won't get arrested; I promise. Make up your own look with the mix and match items new this month at E! - Eclectic Apparel and Accessories.
While "eclectic" isn't part of the store name, we all know that She's So Unusual Shoes is just that. You are bound to find something to fit your style there. For me, it's these super sexy open toed wedgies called Magellen Corset. The lacing is so cute and the perfect touch to a plain outfit.
The hugging pose (Cold Winter) is from a new to me pose maker shop, ESSENTIAL SOUL STUDIO N POSES. Others are from LAP.
Flower Fantasies

We have so many wonderfully creative folks here at Phil's Place. Some are trying to make a living and others are here simply for the creative outlet. If the rent gets paid it is a plus. Whether it is strictly business or ultimately pleasure, those of us at the receiving end reap the rewards.
The Mystical Tree House is one of collection of fantasy dwellings from Gecco. I have neither the space nor the prims to live in this magical structure, but you might. The details are inspiring and include a radio that works even on the sandbox, so no land owner permissions needed.
[Edit: The creator says that it music of the avatars uuid. The flower said it was playing music. I "may" have placed the house on top of a radio? Have no clue, sorry LOL. And neither of us are techie.
You techie folks no doubt know all about how that works, but it was new to me. Music, butterflies and flowers, I had it all while taking these photos :D. A teleporter is included.
If you venture over to Gecco, you'll need to navigate down several levels to find the fantasy dwellings. You will be rewarded though, as this is still in the Midnight Mania board. Slap that puppy and it may be yours. If you are in a hurry, don't worry, the prices here are very very low. As you arrive you'll find another MM board with a castle and a couple levels down one with textures. Again, the prices are very good, so peruse as you wander down. Not all the buildings are high prim. Of course most of MY favorites were (sigh).
My super cute flower overalls are from the new releases at E! Eclectic. Casual and fun and youthful they seemed the perfect outfit for playing in my temporary fantasy home. They come in a variety of colorful denims with flower accents and prim cuffs. Choices of layers are of course part of the package.
I added a pink tuck in bustier from MichaMi to go with my Primagine Sandy flower earrings. Shoes aren't required in fantasy land, so I skipped those.

Waves of Goodies

Xia was up early (or maybe to bed late :D) as she arrived on my doorstep with newness. She'd been over to a store called Wave after reading a glowing report from Beanie, Queen of digging up new spots to explore. Xia was in the Wave camp for sure and started showing me some of the great free items she had picked up. They were definitely fun and original with many bright colors in the mix. I TPed over to the store and found a creative cornucopia with lots of gifts and plenty of items that won't break the bank linden wise.
Her outfit above includes jeans, bra top (both gold and orange come in one pack) and a bright quilted rocker jacket. There are other colors of both jackets and jeans. Honestly there is just lots there.
Here is a sampling of the items she picked up. All were free except for the pink pants ($1). There are plenty of unisex type items too, so guys can enjoy. This link goes to the freebie area but you can walk down the difficult to see ramp to get to the rest of the store. There are a few dollarbies on the main level as well as lots of other fun things to buy.
Her tattoo is FG Underground's new Subscribo gift. Just join that Hippo group and it gets delivered to you as a gift. There are small tattoos on the tummy and buttock in the underpants layer.
Dollarbie Heaven
Sadly, Slanted Fox is closing. On the plus side there is a wide assortment of goods to be had, each for a buck. The range is vast from little girl outfits to pawed boots and animal hats to a kimono. Divine picked up a few items this eve and was happy to share her choices with you.
Everything you see came from the shop. While there are many coordinating $1 outfits available , she opted for some mix and match items. The knee length sculpty shorts come in a choice of four colors of belts; red is shown here. The back has a plaid section and the sculpty pants are quite original with fun stitching. The off the shoulder top was part of a skirt set that has boots and a hat -- all purchased individually. The fun cuffs come in six colors and you can get all of them for $4 as a fatpack. The purse complete with little blue man (no idea what that is about) comes in four colors also.
There are a few items for men and these shorts would work for the guys also. The prims are touch resize -- even the purse. How nice! There are some tennies and some little girl pastel totes too.
This complete outfit was only $4. So venture over to Slanted Fox and do a bit of shopping. Your pocketbook will thank you.
Household Hunting

You have less than a week to pick up some great stuff at the Heart and Sole Hunt. The furniture is fantastic and matches the "Aurora borealis" rezzbox house (Designer Showcase Network) from TusSim Dreams . How cool is that?
There are 25 prize boxes in three stores at the Heart and Sole sim. My skirt is from Kitsune Couture while my shoes are from *Heart & Sole* (natch). There are many pairs of shoes as well as clothes for the gals. Start your hunt at any of the three stores. The smallish gift boxes are easy to find.
Here's your starting location.
The complete bedroom set shown above is from Sommerfiends. I especially like the small tables with semitransparent cloths and bold shadows. The bookcase is a BIG winner for me. Both are low prim for us folks on a budget. The bed chest opens (even in diagonal mode) to reveal bedding. You could add your own goods of course.
My hair is from the Black Keys Hunt, ++AY.LinE++ and my top is the tinted cami from Fri.day blogged here. VERY handy :D.
Poses by LAP.
Musicality & Hunting for Guys

You still have a few days to get to the Black Keys Hunt. I finished (in my version of if I can't find it I move on ) the other eve and have to say that there are some super prizes. This oversized hat from Tweedle was by far my personal favorite. So fun and so creative. The piano keys play and particle notes appear as if by magic. I definitely feel like a Mad Hatter :D.
Alas, Tweedle is closed and the landmark leaves me flaying in the air. That doesn't mean kudos should be forgotten however. So let's all clap a bit for TommyTom Jun, who has made a few of us smile. Here's hoping Tweedle 2 will arise from the ashes with even more wonderfully fun designs.
If you love this hat as much as I do, you can find it HERE. No hunting necessary. Thanks to TommyTom and Mikayla Ares, organizer of the Black Keys Hunt for making it available to us all.
The musical note prop comes form Khargo and includes a long animation and shadow. My outfit is the GUY prize from Cutie Honey. In my previous post I mentioned that there seemed to be few items for men in this hunt. Happily I can report that there were many more towards the beginning. Some stores with men's items include ++AY.LinE++Ginza (hair), *Dreams* (Tees), Cat Crap (black star hightop sneakers), Iced (necklace), Goth1co (outfit posted yesterday, Another World (tee), Kissed By Lithium (tee and jeans), Alexohol Fashions (board shorts and sports tank). And I'm sure there are others that I missed. So go forth guys, you only have a few days left.
Special thanks to Sterling Artistry for the black texture pack which I hope to be using soon :D.

Still in my Hope Goth skin from Tuli's new release.
Forever Gothic

Tuli has released a Gothic version of the very popular Hope skin. A large variety of makeups are available from delicate to deadly, brightly hued to monochromatic. Unpacking items from the Black Keys Hunt, I came across an outfit from Goth1c0. The bells in my head went off and I was happy I hadn't lost ALL those brain cells. I immediately started trying on the Tuli skins with the Black Key outfit from Goth1co. Of course they worked beautifully together. There was no doubt in my mind about hair; I immediately went to my Stringer Mausoleum folder. Well of course I did.
The Goth1co outfit includes short pants and suspenders as well as a jacket with tee shirt option. I went for skin :D.
Style notes: Skin - Hope Goth 03, Hair - *TSM* Medusa - Crimson tipped (sans snakes).
Pose - The Express by LAP.
Here are two more of my favorite goth skins paired with Stringer Mausoleum hair. There are many more colors and options including runny eye liner and bloody lips, so stop by the shop and try some on. And if you are a Tuli group member, check the recent notices for info on how to get the natural version of this skin as a gift. Those notices go astray often I know, so here's your heads up if you missed the news.
Style notes:
Hope Goth 09 and *TSM* Xeranna - Dirty
Hope Goth 02 and *TSM* Infusion - Mahogany tipped with liquid hair sticks.
In the Twilight

Cabbernathia, a new release from ~L&S~ Medieval Gowns & Swords, gives romance a new twist. If you are a gal who would rather have a bit of power along with your silk, this is the outfit for you. The sash is simply to die for -- whether it is complimenting the long flowing skirt or adding a bit of femininity to a pair of tuck in trousers. The sculpty sleeve poofs are bold and balance the daringly low neckline. It just goes to show that you don't need to bare a lot of skin to have a super sexy look. Woot!
The outfit comes with various sizes of skirts and sashes and all prims are manual mod should you need some final adjustments. A bandanna is included if you want to add to the swashbuckler effect. I went for the "abducted upper class lady who has fallen in love and joined the rebels" look adding my Gems 'n' Roses red and silver necklace from DM Designs. My wear with almost anything BAX Prestige boots were perfect as they often are.

Fri.day

Well I definitely can't keep up with Benicia today and I have things to unpack from hunting last eve --- Humph! But I love finding fun new shops and Fri.day definitely qualifies. The items are on posters with demos and fatpacks clearly marked. The single items are on hangers or in stacks by color. So cute and the white walls show everything off very nicely. There aren't that many places where you can try before you buy, so this is a plus for sure. There are a bunch of very nice free items out including the set shown above. The free bikini (swim or undies) with cute back and great lines comes in four colors and includes a semi sheer white tee coverup -- great for lots of wearing options.
Hair is a big draw here and it is indeed very nice nice hair. Demos are "natural" with no odd colored prims. Instead you get a red clown nose, fangs or mustache - LOL. The color packs are luscious looking too, so later exploration is definitely called for.

A basic cami (tintable) is another of the gifts. Three bright colored wide belts complete the cornucopia :D. The belts are not resize and Benicia is wearing the largest size so these are for svelte avatars. VERY pretty though.
If you haven't been to Fri.day, come on down. The shopping is definitely fun and easy -- and we like that. The gifts are in small boxes on three shelves in the middle of the store. Follow the beam from the landmark above.
Black Market Bootie

The Black Market sounds like a place that Phil's minions might want to close down, but it's not! It is a themed sales area and lots of fun.
From the Sugarcube notecard of the morn:
hi all--:D Its Open today "The Black Market!
The Black Market is a brand new place where designers of all genre within this community come down to share their sales and exclusives.
Sales and discounted items from each designer will be rotated regularly in 2-3 weeks intervals which gives you more reason to keep checking back for gorgeous amazing awesomesauce stuff!!!
There are boats filled with goodies at the landing point. Some are free, some dollarbies. Lots of great stuff with The Soulful & Poetic Table Set from Modd.G being Benicia's fave. And I have to agree. It is SO cute. 27 prims of fine detail. The poseball can be adjusted on the stool (yeah!) for a perfect fit.

The hair with scarf comes from !Ohmai and the top from *MayoNaise*. The poem on the writing desk is sad; most likely we have all felt those emotions.

This is the dress from Sugarcube. There is a very cute neck scarf from - BALACLAVA!! too. Spend a few lindens, have some fun and explore a new spot.
Here's your water taxi to The Black Market!
The Perfect Bed
Just when things are going well -- the get even BETTER! That works for me. I was heading out to do a bit of shopping when a notecard from the Parajen SOM came in. You may remember the great house they gave away last month. The one I am living in? Well this month it is a superb bed. Woot!

The bed is in a gift box in a hidden room at Parajen. And nope, I'm not telling you where the room is. There IS however a photo in the SOM history -- or least I am assuming there is. When you find the general area, you will need to cam. Well you knew it wasn't going to be THAT easy, didn't cha?

Aside from the fantastic look of the bed and the rich textures, it comes with multiposes on both the bed and the bench in front. There is a set of rezzing couple's poseballs too for you techie lover types. I am just thrilled that there are poses for those of us that actually "lounge" or "sleep" *wink*. I had to get Benicia over to take her closet away so she stayed and tried out the bed. At thirty two prims, it isn't thrifty in that department, but I was more than willing to give up a few things in order to add this to my home.
Agreed, it may be a tad fancy for my stone shack, but the colors go very well and I just love it. So, if you have a home or need a home or may someday get a home --- LOL, you might just want to journey over to Parajen and see what all the fuss is about. Get a hint from the SOM, hopefully, and find the secret room. Rumor is that other prezzies will be showing up there from time to time.
What a glorious eve!
PS. Those curtains sway in the breeze just like the matching ones of my house. I'm coordinated!
Stlyin' It Up!

What's black and white and fun to make your own? Two of the hot new freebies on the grid. Dress them up or down, add layers or do some major modding, they are both great basics.
Benicia's black dress is a new gift from Sugarcube. When I was swimming in gray goo yesterday at the Hodgepodge opening I saw a ton of dots at the store. I couldn't move of course and finally gave up. It was fun to yell back and forth to the other gals though and Achariya did a great job covering the opening. Gold stars for perseverance :D. Benicia, up early, got over to Hodgepodge and did a little exploring, found some new shops and picked up a few gifts. Along with the very versatile Little Black Dress, she added the Gardens and Gauze top opening gift from Piddidle (Hodgepodge). Designed as a brief summer top, it also works very well as an accent layer. The prim trim adds a special touch.
To add a little edge, she donned the bottom layer of Fairy Wing tattoo from CyberStar BodyArt Tattoos (MM board). Shoes are oldies from a PRISM set.
My outfit began with the :::**Ray Skin**::: Myu~ *milk* dress. I loved the dress, but not all the many bows. So being a crafty gal, I moved the bows into my body where they can't be seen. Now I have a sophisticated white winter urban fairy goddess look. LOL - well I love it, whatever it is. The hood is great and could be worn with the drape shawl top with other outfits. It comes with "ears" so some modding was used there also. The dress comes in a variety of colors at the shop. Find this one amidst the others marked as a dollarbie. Four hair color choices come with the hood. I added some warm white gloves and my white Prestige boots from BAX to complete the outfit.

The trip to Hodgepodge is definitely worthwhile. There are lots of cute shops in a tasteful, parklike setting. Wander around, shop a bit and pick up a few freebies. Along with her outfit in the top photo, Benicia also found a great poseball set from *A.D.D Poses*, this cute corset top from ::::IrEn:::: and this lovely pendant and bead necklace and earring set from Ommik.
Her hair is the new group gift from Amacci.

Hot Guy Freebies!
I'm not sure if my title refers to hot stuff for guys or stuff for hot guys *wink*. Either way, it's a good day. A quick update for the Y Chromosome set shows the oh so nice MM Feed Your Head tattoo from CyberStar BodyArt Tattoos , the Gabriel lucky chair jacket at KDC Mall
and some very ripped, very manly jeans from Urban Outfitters (Edit: now Urbanity on its own sim ) a Black Keys Hunt prize.
That is today's news for the guys.
Sizzling LC!

Red hot! The Gabriel lucky chair at KDC Mall is smokin'. Get this newly released sculpty jacket when your letter comes up. The five minute chair moves quickly with so many folks gathered around. This is a fantastic accessory. It is click resize and will work for guys too. I saw some watching and hoping :D. With lots of other colors available for purchase on the wall, this is a great way to try out the look.
There are many, many lucky boards in the mall so if they interest you, join the KDC Mall group and click away. This jacket in the chair is for general public sits.
Get your gang together and have fun!
Black and White
Posted by Chic Aeon in freebies

Hunts appear to be here for the duration, or at least until the end of the year. After running out of Gossip Girl DVDs last eve, I picked a random starting place in the Black Keys Hunt and began my explorations.
Many of the stores in this black and white themed hunt are in upcoming ones. If you are a hunt junkie you won't be without a fix, that's for sure. Doubloon Hunt, Demonology Hunt, Addiction Hunt, Twisted Hunt and the Freaky Fall Hunt -- GLBT, Dr. Seuss, STEAM, Mother Daughter, Game Day and Macabre take place in September with the GLBT starting tomorrow. Whew! I have no plans to do all those hunts, but I will try to at least sample a few.
The outfit above takes some pieces from my favorite prizes in the Black Keys Hunt to make a new look you probably haven't seen.
My necklace (Love it!) comes from Twisted and Spoiled. The sexy stripey shoes are part of the same prize package. A cute dress comes as a bonus!
Shades of gray flowers cover this bold corset top from Crush My Hopes, a new shop to me. It comes with matching panties and nylons. The panties have an extremely nice cut and the nylons have a bold flower pattern.
My black buttoned mini is part of a dress from DivaLicious. Its sculpty skirt piece fits me very well and it is sure to be a basic piece of my wardrobe. The prize top is bright red with a sculpty collar.
You can start the Black Keys Hunt at any of these shops. From my 30% sampling I would say that the hunt is harder than some, basically because the prize vendor (a small set of piano keys) is in fact SMALL. It also blends in well with most anything. Some shops have made it as obvious as possible, but discovery of others take some close camming. If you love to really HUNT, this is for you. If not, find some hints or take some friends. The last third of the hunt is geared toward the ladies; I can't report on the places I haven't been :D . Sorry guys!
Hurry Guys!
Posted by Chic Aeon in guy stuff

I TPed over to CyberStar BodyArt Tattoos this morning to click on the MM board. Once it rezzed I saw it was more for guys - LOL. Wonder got his click in. Lots of folks TPing friends in so hurry. The board may reset after awhile, though. Who knows. This is a great shop and a good board to watch. You can of course purchase lots of great tattoos here too :D.

It's Friday. Slow day of the week on the blogs.
It's a good thing really. I have to believe it means that many of us have actual lives in that "other" real world. Going out. Relaxing. Having fun.
Visiting rather than typing. Talking rather than scanning the feeds.
It's Friday night and all is right with the world.

Dusk to Dawn
My old friend Sami is back with us at Phil's Place after a long absence. I'm hoping she will join my other guy and gal friends from time to time for photo shoots. To that end -- I BRIBED her! I had a gift certificate from the DCNY sim opening, one of the special one only hunt prizes. So I sent her off to shop at Dawn Designs. Here's what she found and what she chose.
First up is a nice freebie called Skulls. The set includes cuffed capris that could be worn sans prims and with boots. There is also a full set of netting tintable leggings, something sure to come in handy from time to time.
One of her purchases was this super cute and Fallesce argyle mini in charcoal. It comes in lots of other colors I hear including pastels. It's beautifully made and very sassy. Cute argyle bangles are included.

And for casual wear, she got some ripped and patched jeans and a nicely tailored, richly colored blue shirt (available in other hues). It has a skirt layer for the bottom section and comes with a modify prim belt. The detailing is very nice with a pleat in the back and slightly open bottom section; very realistic.

Since her shoe wardrobe leaves room for additions, I told her about the new hit group gift from Studio M'z. She zipped over, joined up and the boots went so well. What a great surprise.
Welcome back!
Shapeshifting
Posted by Chic Aeon in freebies

Legends speak of beings that can transform themselves into animals. Wolves, bears, dragons -- and leopards. Shapeshifting. When I started this post, I had no plan to delve into mythology or science fiction. I was still in my hO wEAr sorceress skin from yesterday. I tried on the shiny picks gift from Prim and Pixel Paradise, and I liked the drama. The neutral matte skin contrasted with the high luster of the Sizzlin' Safari set. It was mysterious; a mask was in order. I had a lovely but ancient (NLA) one in my inventory and it matched beautifully.
My new BAX boots were a perfect addition. A couple of clicks and matching gold trim appeared. I was getting that sorceress thing down pretty well *wink*. A mysterious cavern was a perfect spot for photos and as I turned and twisted in the dim light, I did indeed begin to believe that some of the leopard was in me.
Now, I don't plan on wearing this skin often. It is difficult to photograph and most likely not in many reader's comfort zones. Still it was fun. And while my new Prim and Pixel Paradise dress will mostly likely look just as wonderful in a club, it was fun to let my imagination take flight. The outfit also comes with a black netting mini skirt and a long gown length skirt. Textures weren't loading for me this morning so you get to see this version. It is my personal fave.

Orange and Blue

For those of you that missed Color Theory 101 in design school, orange and blue are complimentary colors. That doesn't just mean that they play well together -- lots of colors do. It is a term used to express their opposite positions on a traditional color wheel. To be fair the new group gift from Zenith (in the store by the lucky campers on the second floor) has golds through orange as well as the complimentary blue, but you get the idea. It's bright and it's pretty.
The Candy Girl set includes one piece, two texture pants with prim shorts and tie belt. The top comes with optional sculpty sleeves and tunic bottom. Benicia journeyed over to Duh! to pick up the bright tennies from the Poppy Hunt, found a X on the lucky chair for Xia and then a wildcard which she jumped on. She also bought a set so she has lots of color and pattern choices now :D.
She wanted to show me her new duds and she also found some cool one prim folded blankets and towels for decorating, so she beckoned me over to Designs By X. The one prim accent items give you lots of decorating bang for you bucks. So if you are need of some inexpensive pizazz for your prim challenged house or apartment, you might want to take a look. They'd look great in our wardrobe cabinet. We just have to agree on a color or two *wink*. This is the main store of the Lemania shop with the very pretty pillows that I blogged here. Those comfy rectangles ( I was greedy and clicked twice ) are now part of my pillowed reading area. Very pretty.
While we were looking at blankets and towels and such a "B" came up on the lucky chair. See the blue wicker set in the photo above -- and Benicia's backside. It's a cute pose, don't you think? She was not very happy about that picture - LOL.

There is a second group gift at the Zenith store. So click on both group vendors if you are in need of some Pretty in Pink style jammies and slippers.

Bella Donna
Today's hot new lucky chairs -- 16 of them -- are at Umi Usagi and this Bella Donna dress is one of the prizes to be had. It comes with many more roses should you be at the flashier end of the styling spectrum. Shoulder straps with roses, shoes with roses and gloves with roses were all options. Xia is a fairly low key kinda gal. Instead of all the prim roses, she chose the rose gardens for our shoot; natural is good -- in her book anyway. Whether you want to deck yourself with roses or hang out among them, this is a very pretty outfit.
While there are plenty of folks stalking those chairs, there is a skill level to these prize givers which makes it a contest. It's not simply who has the fastest connection :D. The boards are placed around pillars with some being WAY up there. Camming skills are definitely necessary as you need to watch all sides of both pillars to catch the ever changing 5 minute boards.
Xia chose some red heels from Tesla and added her new butterfly tattoos (lucky board) from Fallen Angel. How will you wear this if you are a lucky winner?

This cute rabbit phone is one of the other prizes. Animated brightness adds to the fun.

Need a natural place to sit or dream? This one prim leaf chair / bed with two poses is the final prize in the threesome.

Here's your TP to Umi's.
Mystic

Mystic of the Realm is truly superb. The set includes a great Drow skin with sparkles, ears and a nose ring which I gave up in favor of my eyelashes. Everything but my great BAX boots were included in today's free gift. And where else to be a mystical sorceress but the Stringer Mausoleum and Shrine's graveyard.
You may have already guess that this is a hO wEAr gift. Available until 8 pm only at the new main showroom.

Watercolor Blues

Ivalde is having her third rez day. Woot! And to celebrate there is a lovely new dress on the second floor of the shop. You can't miss it :D. It comes with a two toned skirt which I am pretty sure you will be seeing a dozen times or more on the feeds. Being in independent mode (a state fairly normal to me) I decided that I'd dress it down in jumpsuit style to show off the lovely bright colors and to highlight a few of my favorite new things.
Some you have seen my bright blue sweatshirt before, but in a different setting. My Young Urban hoodie is from the Skipping Stones Hunt and was featured here. While that was a fun shoot, I do so like my tummy back to a normal size. One reason why this jacket is so appealing to me is the openness of the zippered front. You can say so much with what is underneath and the hoodie can tie it all together.
My other previously feature item are the Venus boots. It was actually their sister style that was featured in this post. These new A-Bomb lovelies have platform soles. I chose the chunky heels and a bright teal to coordinate with the colorful hues of print. Lots of fun!
The major newness of this post, besides Ivalde's natal day giftie, is this super cool basket from -RC- Cluster and the Skipping Stones Hunt. I loved it from the first minute I saw it but coordinating items were illusive, until this eve. The basket opens to the touch and shows all sorts of fun foodstuff inside. It is meant to be carried and at over 50 prims you will most likely concur on the plan.
My difficult to see earrings are from Dark Mouse. You'll have to trust me that they are perfect accompaniments for the rest of the outfit.

The State of Chic
Posted by Chic Aeon in comment
My 1000th post is coming up next month, and yes, for those of you wondering, there will again be presents. Even if I no longer have my shop, I still remember my skills *wink*. I was thinking back on my 500th post at the end of February and marveling at how much things have changed in my life and on my blog.
If you've been one of those faithful readers who open up Chic at Phil's Place each morn while they down their coffee and maybe a croissant (OK, corn flakes count too) you've seen some changes in the last months. Even those who just peruse on the feeds, may have noticed. I've given up my "go here, get this" posts in favor of more themed features. These are certainly more fun for me to do and from the comments and IMs I receive a lot of you like the new approach.
Bloggers Appreciation week was a special time for me and I met many new designers who I admire and who now send me releases. This means that you get to see some luscious, just on the market outfits and find some new favorite designers of your own. I often have a full folder of "to be blogged" items and a long to do list. I also have a folder of people who would like me to feature them again sometime soon. This is SO cool! So thanks to all the designers who are helping me (and you) explore the variety of SL (R) Fashion.
Busy is great. No complaints from me. What I do have to give up sometimes is exploring. I don't have much time to hunt, and so my hunting in the future will most likely be of the "popular" hunts. There are some GREAT hunts coming up in the next month or two, so I am not giving up on them -- just narrowing my focus a bit.
Audience:
For anyone still reading this, THANK YOU! There is no point in all the photography and key strokes if there is no one seeing the work. I am happy with my stats and I'll post a summary of them at the beginning of September. A big hug to those of you that come here daily and a warm hello to all the new folks that stop by.
Designers and hunt organizers:
You do not need to be afraid to send me you info or samples. You will never get a negative "review" here at Chic's. If I don't think my audience will be interested , they will simply disappear from my inventory. If you would like your designs back, that's perfectly OK with me. My inventory has expanded by 50% in the last couple of months and I clean my closet often. So personal booty is not my goal. I bet you've guess that.
Posers:
While no poses were used in this post, I want to thank all of you great gals and guys for doing what you do and making us look good in whatever we choose to wear.

It's late in my world, but I decided to do a bit of catch up and ventured over to Prim and Pixel Paradise. I hadn't been there for awhile and was thinking of signing up on the Picks Reward. That I couldn't find, but in my wanderings I did find this gorgeous dress. So, since I was in a reminiscent mood, I zipped over to The Far Away -- a place I hadn't seen for a long while. While the genre didn't match all that well, the theme of revisiting was in my mind. And it was late and I was sleeeeeeeepy.
This Ruby Royal is a lovely outfit. The colors are intense and the patterns both bold and delicate. I have no idea how long it is out for, so visit soon. Ah yes, I forgot to mention it is free!
Edit: The picks reward board is now on the second floor HERE.

In Search of the Perfect Skin
It's amazing how tiring shopping for skins can be, even if it is a friend who is doing all the demo changing. Not that spending the afternoon looking at Wonder is a difficult thing *wink*. Even if we aren't romantic, I can still recognize a good looking guy.
We started with a list of skin makers from Phantom's Republic. Some of the shops on the list were familiar, some not so much and that was the point after all -- to see a variety of options.
Eventually it came down to three skins. It wasn't a quality issue so much as a taste issue. Some skin lines didn't have a dark enough skin for Wonder's long time look; he had no intention of becoming pale overnight :D. Some didn't fit at all; that happens.
The three skin lines making the final cut were from Signature Skin Labs (Phantom Republic's top pick), PXL (not on the list but mentioned in the comments) and Belleza. They all had some gold stars in the check off sheet.
Signature Skin Lab had the most realistic skin tone by far (our opinion) and the upper torso work was lovely. Malik Tone 2 also got points for outstanding eyebrows and facial hair as well as a more ethnic look. For different it won hands down. So why wasn't it the winner? The waist down body work was not up to the rest of the skin's quality. I kept wanting to take an airbrush and brush out the harsh lines on the legs. I can of course do that on a photo, but not on Wonder's body - LOL.
PXL Creations (JUDE dark) got big points for body. Not only was it the most realistic (again just a two people opinion poll) you got many choices in the pack. The face was too photographic for Wonder's taste and I concurred. That is completely a choice however, so do take a look at these skins -- especially if you'll be going nude more often than some of us.
If you could take the best parts of these two skin lines? You would have something very special.
In the end, Wonder chose Belleza's Jonas Deep Tan 1. It had both a good body and a face that looked much like Wonder's only updated. Change isn't a positive verb in my friend's book. It would have been a plus to be able to get a bit of the ruddiness out of the skin tone, but alas the skins are no mod -- something that was obvious before purchase, so not a surprise. A bonus was the choice of baby butt chest or slightly hairy. Texture is nice *wink*.
That was MY day. I hope our explorations help some of you guy readers. If you are still in year old skin, it might be a good time to go demo shopping. Two year? Get out there and SHOP guys!

Royalty MM Style

Have you ever wanted to be royalty? Well you can be a prince of Egypt and you wont need to empty your country's coffers for this dramatic outfit. Legends of China has this costume on its Midnight Mania board today. It has already paid out once (thanks!) and is starting up again.
This set is transfer so gals can go click for their significant others or friends if they like. There is a huge selection of RP costumes in the shop, so be sure and peruse a bit after you get your click in. The outfit includes a shoulder capelet as well as complex shin guards.
A word of warning. This outfit is NOT mod and there is no click to resize. The girdle wasn't big enough for Wonder. You can see some love handles showing through a bit if you look closely *wink*. So you might need to adjust your shape a bit. There are many parts that will fit however and you might be able to mix and match with another outfit.
So go forth and explore. Wonder and I are off for a skin shopping expedition. He may have a new look the next time he graces these pages. We'll see if he finds something that he feels comfy in. I can only prod :D.

I Know a Secret!

Continued from "Not Quite a Lady".
Since I was pretty sure Wonder would like my new Demise cardigan, and since I REALLY wanted to try this new pose from Luth (Pro Posers Hunt), I used my feminine whiles on him and we had a quick photo shoot. Actually, just saying, "please" did it.
This is the cardigan tucked in for a more tailored look. I love the fringe, but you may not :D.
Bare chested is not the only way to wear this unique top, a tank works as an underlayer if you choose. Find this free shades of gray flower tattoo at Demise first floor. It comes in two layers. It goes very well with my favorite Leah Thin Tank from WoE *wink*.

Not Quite a Lady

A friend of mine who reads this blog has mentioned a time or two that I put things together that make her wonder -- and then smile as they actually do work. Well today is one of those days I guess. Here's the story.
I found this great shirt with long fringe and enough transparency to make you look twice but still keep a PG rating. Not long after opening the box and oohing with delight, I discovered this fun flowered hat from DSN. Could I post them at the same time? Well, of course I "could", the trick was to get an outfit that was actually and OUTFIT!
I could have gone with the basic black works with everything, but where's the adventure in that. So, I added my light salmon (taupe) leggings from Tuli's last clothing release; they echoed the colors in the flowers nicely. My shoes were also in today's DSN delivery and mixed the white of the leather with little black bows -- how about that? Not only are they cute, I am pleased to report that the shoe fitter is matched nicely to the shoe. The fit on these is excellent; no overly trunkated arches either. Yeah!
My sexy cardigan hales from Demise. The store is menswear and the cardigan is billed as unisex. It comes with various layers so that a tuck in version is a choice. Many of the clothes in the darkly swanky shop could be in the M-F category. Androgyny works too. There aren't a lot of offerings yet in this half sim store, but it looks to me like there are plans -- big ones *wink*.

Skipping in Style #5

Skipping Stones Hunt mash up indie style #5 here. Earlier posts are #1, #2, #3, #4.
Having faithfully categorized all my new poses from the Pro Posers Hunt, I am finishing up my posts on Skipping Stones. Both of these hunts are filled with wonderful prize gifts, so if you haven't started hunting -- get to it! You can start from any store link mentioned in the posts.
While I am definitely fond of the mix and match capabilities of neutrals, I love color just as much. The raggedy ann Rhapsody skirt from *BOOM* is a gorgeous surprising blend of turquoise and raspberry in a fun patchwork pattern. I paired it with the top of a mini dress from Acid & Mala Creations. The lovely necklace from Bliensen + MaiTai added a ladylike touch.
My dark strawberry hair from The Stringer Mausoleum and Shrine is one of two styles and several colors in their prize. Not all that easy to find, there is a hunt cheat sheet available in the main shop.

With so many great designers on this hunt, it's likely you'll be heading back to spend some lindens. Just in case you need it, you can pick up this cute pink Visa "mouth" card at MyStyle. It's a promotional dollarbie; for how long I do not know :D.
Poses by LAP and ANA_Mations (not a typo :D).
Colorful Mikanx

Xia and I spent some time this afternoon trying out some of my new prizes from the Pro Posers Hunt. We skipped the obviously in love (or at least lust) ones and concentrated on the friendly ones. It's always a challenge with Xia as she is so petite; but just like in the real world, we all come in different shapes and sizes.
Quite a few poses were great but no mod, so unless you measurements were similar to the pose makers, they didn't work. A shame really, but they will work for some folks, that's a given. The couples pose from Luth is exceptionally cute and I'm sure it will work with one of the fellows as a partner. I can't wait to try it out.
Thanks to Beanie, Xia and I had lots of goodies to show you from a shop called Mikanx. There is a huge selection of freebies in the middle of the shop. I went looking for what Beanie had blogged and found things I liked even more. There is also some really fun art on the walls which appears to be the work of the designer in the real world. As I don't read Japanese, I can't really tell. Her blog is here.
Our top poses are from LAP, one of the guy-guy poses that obviously works for gal friends too. Yeah!
Most everything we are wearing is from the shop. There are more items than you suspect included in a pack, even in just a free tee shirt box. Oh my! The socks and leggings are really great and come in various colors. Definitely a must have if your wardrobe is on the skimpy side. My orange and gold garb is part of a dollarbie pack. All the other items are completely free. How great!
The poses on the left are from Ana_Nations and the poses on the right are from LAP. My shoes are from Pretties by JB and Image Reflections. Xia's are from Lazy Places. Xia's pants are from Pixeldolls (top photo) and Clothes Horse. All have been previously featured.
PS. The lacy leggings that Xia is wearing are actually transparent! Neither of us noticed that at first - LOL. So, be sure and wear them UNDER something else, OK? Don't wantcha arrested. They comes in tons of colors and are simply great.
Poses Poses Poses

I just finished the Pro Posers Hunt and while I didn't find ALL the hand symbols, I certainly came away with lots of bootie. The gifts are great and if you have a significant other, you are definitely set. There are LOTS of couples poses. I was mostly interested in the new to me shops and I did find a few that I will definitely be watching in the future. The guys are well represented in this hunt and I would venture to say that the gifts are pretty much equal in the M-F categories.
The pose above is from DARE who has a big collection of Disco Night poses as their gift.
click for larger photoWhile I was hunting and gathering, I picked up the swim togs from Everglow. The bikini, some tattoos and a pose are in an obvious gift bag -- one of the first things visible when you come in the store. So while you are looking for the hand, you might want to grab the bag. The pose is a nice symmetrical crossed leg stand. Everglow is also responsible for the kneel shown at the right, a great cover-those-nipples pose for tattoos, like the stars one shown in the photo, also part of the Everglow dollarbie pack.
The bottom pose is from LAP. I picked it especially to illustrate a point. There are lots of couples poses -- both lover and friends types -- in this hunt. Don't let that dissuade just because you are single. You can often use one of the poses in the set for your photo shoot -- and with great results. Some of the stands I use the most came from group sets. You can also open many of the poseballs (mod ones) and use the pose separately without the balls.

The hunt is only 41 stops, but resting is a good thing. At Mela's I took a break to sit on one of three ten minute camp chairs and garner a pose. There is a pack of kimono poses nearby for a linden. I am pretty sure I had all these at one time, but things do tend to disappear from our inventories without our planning, so it was good to find them again :D. You might try sitting on a camp chair while you are camming for the hand. Just a thought *wink*.
I am going to be a VERY good girl this afternoon and finish unpacking and going through the couple's poses. I have noted their flavor (romantic - friends - girl/girl etc.) on the folders since some of them are no mod. Organization, a key we often overlook because it isn't a lot of fun (sigh).
PS. There are two great fence pose props in this hunt. One for two people from :+: Studio SIdhe :+: (shown in the background of a photo above) and one for five from Pffiou. I am VERY much looking forward to using those soon. Yep, I am!
Flying High

If you are a Designer Showcase Network member, be on the lookout for this gold Flight dress from Spork. Dark greenish gold mixed with black accents, the fun feathered skirt flutters as you walk. You might even feel like you ARE flying!
Just out from A-Bomb are two sets of color change sculpty boots. This is the Aphrodite set which features thin soles. A similar set, the Venus boots, have thick platforms for those of you that want to be even taller! Both have menu driven options including sizing, colors and pendant shape. I chose a moon here, but there are many options available. There is even a choice of stiletto or chunky heel shapes. All in are these are very versatile boots. And they are on sale if you get there quickly. Wednesday is the last day to pick these up at half price.

In the Moonlight

Some days all really does seem right with the world. Pieces fall into place and beauty reigns. The Llyra dress from Aria's Dream would make anyone feel beautiful. Add my ORYTHIA necklace and earring set from Donna Flora and my WAKA & yuki updo and I was simply gorgeous.
OK, false modesty aside *wink* this is a lovely dress that goes perfectly with a necklace I'd been dieing to wear and some very fancy hair. When it works, it works!
I think I'll go back to my dreaming .....

Three in a Shirt

Unless you've been living under a rock after swearing off shopping or even looking, you likely recognize this shirt as the Skipping Stones gift from Surf Couture. The I'm a Little Bit Country shirt has been well blogged and I know of only one reader who "only" views my blog :D. Hence there is no need for me to tell you how cute the shirt is; you know. My plan was a simple one. Xia, Benicia an I (who of course each had the shirt) would make up an outfit. Our self made rules dictated that we could only use items already in our closets.
It was fun. Here's the skinny.
Xia went for the out of the box country gal look. Using both hat and straw included in the prize, she added sf design hat hair, cargo pants from E! Eclectic and her Studio M'z cowboy boots. Her new butterfly tattoos from Fallen Angel are peaking through the edge of her shirt. Oh what a sassy cowgirl!
Benicia donned her new hair from JUNWAVE, a group gift just out in this very pretty blond color only. She chose the shorter version of the top and added an open purple shirt from E! Eclectic and her gray Adam and Eve jeans. Duh! clogs completed the outfit.

I went for the punk tomboy look with my Fanny from the Tree hair and Patchouly belt (KOSH), a men's long sleeved gray sweater from [NOP] and knee length shorts from Moonshine. To those basics I added some short nubby socks from Shiny Things, my MK Sneaks from MK Fashion and Monza glasses from primOptic. My FG Underground cigarette added a final touch.
Our backdrop is the great Lyric Skybox from REEK. 48 prims and mod copy, it is great for a home, sky shop or work area. The light coming through the windows is great and I love the step ups to the next level. Those extra touches do count. Pick it up at the Skipping Stones Hunt, or get the version sans poetry on the walls at the store.

ATTN: Bloggers and Photographers

In case you haven't heard a new hunt starts tomorrow. And it mostly for us *wink*. The Pro Posers Hunt features 35 stops along they way. You will be looking for a HAND as the tag line on the poster reads "Creative Minds, Creative Hands".
I'm guessing some of your favorite posers are listed; mine certainly are. And there are lots of folks I have never heard of, so that is VERY exciting.
You can learn more at the official hunt website. The start location is here. Edit: While the link I had here was from the official site, it doesn't appear to have anything to do with posers and has already offended some folks (sorry). Not sure if it is correct or an error on the hunt website. I suggest you might want to start at Pffiou instead? Or any other person in the hunt? I'm confused too *wink*.
Second edit: The starting point has been updated on the official website to here.
HAVE FUN!!!!!

Skipping in Style #4

Skipping Stones Hunt mash up indie style #4 here. Earlier posts are #1, #2, #3.
Sari's! Always a fan, I was happy to see her shop on the list of SSH participants. And I have to say, this is my personal favorite outfit so far. Bright and colorful with mixtures of patterns, it has a hippie feel that I particularly like.
With lots for the eye to see in this Turning pantskirt and top outfit, I didn't need too many accessories. I chose the cute song bird from .:Tyranny:. and the Earth Stoned Choker from .:Addict:. as the partners in my fashion dance. The great dreadlocks come from Sari's. I found them in a box on the floor in one of her small shops while camming for the hunt prize. I love them! Several colors are in the pack so you can find the one that works best for you. They may have been around forever, but if so I certainly missed them on previous visits. That's easy to do as there is an always expanding cacophony of color and pattern :D.
The incredible Conversation Porch from Second Spaces is my backdrop. With so many great details it is simply exquisite! The furniture comes separate but coalesced, so you can use in its entirety or in parts if your prim allowance is mostly spent.
I chose barefoot mode for this shoot, but should you feel the need for some great dollarbie sandals to complete your look, I'd recommend the newest from [chuchuket]. They come in a variety of colors, not just gold and silver.

Skipping in Style #3

My mom used to recite a poem about wearing purple. It started out "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple/With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me... ". I looked it up this afternoon to find that it was written by Jenny Joseph and was identified as the UK's most popular post-war poem in a 1996 poll by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Go Jenny!
Well I don't have to wait until I get old. I love purple, violet, lilac and all shades between. So I put together a few purple prizes in the Stepping Stones Hunt, added some old favorites and some newness and here is my Skipping in Style #3 post. Post #1 is here and post number #2 is here in case you missed them.
So Many Styles had a super cute cardigan shrug with sculpty cuffs as part of its prize gift. I used that as my starting point and added the corset and capri tights from the *Sisters* Shroud set. Another shade of that red-blue hue came from my MALT Floral Suede Belt. I even added some purple nail polish (Candy Nail) and changed my eyes to violet (lessthanthree). Give me that purple!
So that I wouldn't go too far over to the dark side *wink*, I balanced the look with the Mya Makes Bank - Cherry hair I blogged recently here.
My you-SO-know-about-these-great-boots-by-now are of course from BAX.
The quirky house in the background also hales from the hunt. Thanks to The Sea Hole for once again coming up with something SO creative. It's not my camera angles that lend the odd sense of perspective, it is the house itself. "drinks Crazy crooked Steampunk-ish House" is lots of fun with angles that are definitely not 90s, winding wooden spiral stairs and a subtle play of shadows and light. It definitely fits in with the "l'll do it how I want" energy of indie style.

Take Me to the Speakeasy

Just a quick post to let you know that this cute flapper dress is the hO wEAr gift of the day.The set includes a darling hat with a choice of bright red hair or no hair. I decided on my blond sf design hat hair. Gloves in matching fabric are included, but I used some of my vast glove collection from Sn@tch. My animated cigarette lighter is from ANIMAH (Myllie Writer).
Pose by Vain.
Skipping in Style #2

This is the second installment of my indie mash ups from the Skipping Stones hunt. See part one here.
How did this happen? Oh my!
If you are up on your indie movies, you probably recognize my tribute to Juno, a sassy and witty teen who gets knocked up. The Funny Juice takes the place of the "Sunny D" she downed in an effort to complete several pregnancy tests. The minute I saw the juice upstairs in the freebies section of -RC- Cluster, I knew I'd do this post. The juice isn't part of the hunt, but the store is on the tour, so I'm counting it!
The rest of my outfit is all from the hunt. My hoodie is a product of the Young Urban shop. I hadn't visited them in awhile so it was fun to peruse. My pants, wrist cuff and flexi pocket bandanna come from .:Addict:. and my tee is from the Caulfield Dress set at This is a Fawn. The bottom part of the cool boots from Duh! worked perfectly for le look. Topping my slightly worried head is you say tomato - coffee and cream hair from Clawtooth by Clawtooth.
The shabby chic couch in the background is from NachtMusik: a Dandy shop. At only nine prims I can actually keep it around and use it. Yeah! I love the shape and the texture. My stone shack is looking pretty spiffy these days. The retro couch comes with two poses, both shown here.

Skipping in Style #1

When I started opening my boxes from the Skipping Stones Hunt I was VERY pleased. You see, I had this plan -- it was a good one. I was going to faithfully open all the boxes and bags and then put together some indie mash ups for you. Now my version of indie may not be your version and I guess that's the point. You have your own look and that is how it should be!
What I did want to accomplish (and this is still part of my intent) is to show you how well so many of these items go together. And of course I wanted to highlight some of the many great creative designs in this hunt.
I didn't get too far with that box opening before I had several complete looks and some starts on others, so I'm tossing out Plan A and doing my independent nature thing. Here is the first installment of what may be a long set of posts. I hope you enjoy them.
My Stars in a Tube - Carnation top is the longer version of two from #27 [Miseria] .
I added the #9 .::Tyranny Designs::. At the Drive in- Skirt and a great hat and hair from #13 Inorite (lots of colors in the pack).
#20 (epoque) Double-Bridge Logo oversized shades definitely announce that I am not to be messed with even if I am wearing the cutest hot pink and white hoops and bangles from #10 *1-800-Betties* .
My pink Bubble Tea is one of the many "wear me" items from #19 -RC- Cluster. Love those props. This one has a great little animation with it :D.
My two not from the hunt items are my PasDeDeux-T tights and my brand new BAX Prestige boots. These are the white version so I did change! I even made the trim match the tube top using the RGB code. Pretty easy. We like easy.

Poses are by Torridwear and LAP.
Au Natural

Ladybugs and poppies -- oh my! And we must not forget the daisies and the dandelions.
I started off the day unpacking my 59 items from the Skipping Stones Hunt. I had a plan, and as plans often do -- it went astray. All by itself mind you. I had absolutely NOTHING to do with it!
Number seven on the grand tour is i love 13 who bills itself as a "Blood Punk Spooky Ghost Alternative Psychobilly kid". Ladybug pasties? Yep. So creative and kookie I couldn't help but smile. This was the perfect outfit to show off some tattoos I'd been hoarding. You can of course leave the pasties off, add a tank and still have a statement making ensemble.
First up is a lovely dandelion tattoo from Kunstkammer (Stepping Stones stop #1). It is part of a gift pack that includes poofers and eyes. The tattoos come in all layers and three versions of black, white and faded. Very pretty.
The Yin-Yang tattoo on the top left is from ::Tattitude:: (Fall Fun Hunt) and is in the GUY gift. The tummy tattoo is the front section of the Fed Up Neko outfit I blogged yesterday. Great for open jackets when you are wearing just the jacket *wink*.
In case you missed the post about my great new Prestige boots, it is here. And I have to admit that I really didn't want to take them off. So one more post with them before they go into the closet for a bit. That's the plight of the blogger; we often don't get to wear things long enough. (Insert sigh here.)
Another guy tattoo that can crossover into girldom as needed is from .:Passione Questi. Coming in all layers and four colors, it is indeed versatile. Check the lucky chair for some full body tattoos (and maybe more) if you venture over.
Last on my full list is a small prim neck tattoo from Fallen Angel. This is quiet pretty, comes in two sizes and was free at one of the locations. Unfortunately I can't find that location (bad blogger), BUT while looking for it I found a lot of gifts and dollarbies at THIS location. And I TPed in Xia to click the lucky board just in time. She now has a nice looking upper body butterfly tattoo to wear. It all works! Don't miss the anniversary group gift at Fallen Angel. It's all near my TP point in the corner.

Prestige
Posted by Chic Aeon in shopping on Tuesday, August 11, 2009

It's no trick of the eye or slight of hand that has these new BAX Prestige boots fitting like one of a kind, custom made shoes. With a revolutionary menu system that lets you adjust both boots and invisiprims, it is simply the next generation of footwear. I honestly can't say enough about these boots. The menu has a LOT of buttons, and at first it was a bit daunting, but the instructions were very clear and I had no problems at all. When the fitting is done you can even click a button that has the parameters appear in the chat window. Copy them to a notecard and you can use the code on your next pair of Prestige Boots.
Once you have the boots fitted, you can play to your heart's content. The boots have cuffs that can be rolled down (photo above) or up to make over the knee style. They can be plain with no cuffs as shown in the top picture and there are even two shades of denim cuffs for more casual outfits. The trim can be changed to preset colors. If you are more adventurous, you can have any color trim you desire. Want puce? How about chartreuse? You can type in the RGB values of any color as well as change the various parts to different colors -- separately. It is all very amazing.
Overlooking all that the boot DOES, the best part is the look. They are sleek, sexy, soft, supple and the details are amazing. You really need to see for yourself.
That's my late night report. Happy shopping!

Skipping Happily Over Stones
Posted by Chic Aeon in comment

Whew!
Just a brief report to say that I did the Skipping Stones Hunt today. Yeah! I found all but two pesky stones. Most were easy to find and a few harder but with the official hints, I made it through well. I'm looking forward to unpacking all those boxes soon, but my feet are tired now and I need to rest for sure.
annazwiers has done a wonderful job of showing you all the goodies you can gather. See her Flickr photos #1, #2, #3, #4. I'll be doing my best to attempt an indie style post or two about the hunt and the designers included. Tiny shops and giant stores, most were fun. Rezzing is slow of course so be patient and do some chores in between times as necessary.
Remember, the hunt starts at the Kunstkammer Main Store in Emmelia.
Not Quite A Kitty

You don't need to be a Neko to enjoy wearing this Fed Up Neko outfit from Smashin Fashion. The nineteen piece set comes complete with feet, tail and ears. For those of us that seldom meow, there are still plenty of details. Ropes, hypos and things I have no clue about add to the fun of this ensemble. I especially love the backpack. The prim parts are touch resize and with a few magical clicks, fit me very well. You can make the prim parts smaller which is always a relief. Yeah!
My hair is Carmina in Media Noche from Simply Britnee. Just out today I believe; try out a demo in the shop and see if it's "you" :D.

Cultures

Exploring the beauty of other cultures is part of the Diversity Hunt. There are different colored paths to follow in the search for colored angels. I chose the red path -- items for gals.
One of my personal thrills in my self made blogging job is finding new lesser known stores. When I came upon Vlintuition at Bejaia Far East Market, I was pleased to discover designs a bit different.
The Qipao outfit includes several sculpted skirts. Both mini and maxi styles are represented as well as a choice of narrow or wide hips. The textures are lovely and feel like silky satin; the sculpty parts are old fashioned mod so you can adjust individual pieces as necessary. Prim collar and frog buttons add an extra touch.
While the dress looked great as a mini, I wanted something a bit more -- well let's call it Urban. Many of us Westerners admire the styles of other cultures, but most of us shy away from things too different. Meeting in the middle is a good start.
In my attempt to make this lovely outfit more Western mainstream, I added my favorite leggings from MALT. (Yes, you've seen them often and here they are again.) Scorpio hair from Exxess added to the exotic feel without getting too far onto the traditional side of the road -- a difference with flare. Sorrow Sparrow Earrings from ROMP (currently in the MALT village it seems but I can't find a direct SLURL) and shoes from Bellissima completed my outfit.
Look for a red-orange angel.
Poses by Vain, LAP and Tuli.

The traditional Pink Kimono by Nekomimi is very lovely and flows well. The prim parts are hand mod and there are a tremendous amount of obi and collar choices. Geta sandals are included. Sorry, my hair is a long ago and far away prize and almost surely not available.
Pose by Tuli.
Beware that some of the angels on this hunt have been made VERY small. That being said, go forth; the hunt is a short one :D.
Garden Secrets

The generosity of HeidiHo Huet is definitely NOT a secret. Designs range from warrior to dolly to lady to "ho" and the creativity often makes me smile. She's been giving full sets away every weekday for a very long time and her fan base is huge -- as well it should be. Today's costume is called Voodoo and it is dazzling. Complete with striking necklace and a voodoo doll, it speaks of warm Louisiana nights and hidden desires. This outfit is available for free until 8 pm. Get it at one of the hO wEAr shops.
I was wearing my ARC reducing bandanna from D3 and my Ticky Tacky LickMe! earrings when I tried this on and couldn't think of anything that worked better in my wardrobe. Heidi has a great hair pictured on the vendor though and a link to the shop is included. Supporting each other; it works for me!
Deep in the garden by the glowing formal pond, she waits in Joelle by New Eden Designs. Elegant and understated in richly textured dusky violet, this is a perfect dress for a formal affair -- or a tryst in the garden. I added a lovely vintage drop necklace and earring set from DECO as my only adornments. Caliente (dollarbie) hair from a giant fatpack of colors worked perfectly. Find it at Simply Britnee.

Where am I? In my own secret garden out on the sandbox - LOL. Ah the tricks the camera can play. I was so amazed when I rezzed the garden from The Gentlemen Bastards. The photo on the Midnight Mania board does not do it justice. And this one doesn't either. You need to be inside the walls to feel the magic.
Still, you can see from the photos above how intimate it can be, a quiet space in a sometimes busy world. Just out on the board with a VERY low number, you can get yours complete with two couches, trees and candles. Slap the board or purchase in the store for very few lindens; the choice is yours. And here's the other secret -- the board is being reset throughout the day for a limited time, so if it is in lockdown check back later.

Are you ready?
The Skipping Stones Hunt starts tomorrow. With some of my favorite stores in the mix and a few new ones I am looking forward to exploring, it is bound to be a great time. I am personally excited as this is definitely my style of stuff *wink*. Billed as a "curated hunt focusing on stores with an indie/eclectic/bohemian vibe" and seeing some of the Flickr pictures, I was already there -- at least in spirit. I may skip the first day excitement, but I hope to get to all the stops and find most of the goodies before the hunt is over the 24th.
In case you are a bit unclear what indie style is all about, I did some research for you. The Urban dictionary defines indie style (note there are frequently no capitals -- I mean, REALLY!) as
a mixture of other styles, layered to create something somewhat original with each person.
However it is defined, I love the look. So if you do too, I'll see you there. The starting point is the Kunstkammer Main Store in Emmelia, always a fun place to visit!

For those of you that love those dollarbie hunts at Lemania's, a new one has started. In the August Moon hunt you are looking for? You guessed it, MOONS! The hunt runs through August 31st on both sims - Lemania and The French Farm. The outfits above are my picks of the thirty moons available from Lemania. Everything shown (shoes and backpack) are included in the prizes.

Don't be surprised at the emptiness that abounds at the sims. I am out of the loop, but I know there was a rebuild going on. Lemania's shops are empty at the moment and some of the vendors haven't moved back in yet. While I was checking around the other shops, I came across this lovely free pillow from ~~ Designs By X~~. There are lots of other very nice furnishings here, so come peruse.
Some vendors have their moons out (think tan balls with rocky textures), but I'm guessing others will be added as things get back to normal. There are lots of people in the sim right now but it's not too laggy -- says the gal in her low ARC bandanna hunting attire.
Go forth. Have fun!

By overwhelming demand (well a few requests really), I have made some in-world posters that I will be sending out in my "you've been featured" notecards. There are two versions, both mod - copy. One contains a blog loader that links to this website, but it can be modified to link to a particular post.
If you've been featured in one or more of the past 928 posts (OMG!) and don't want to wait until you are mentioned again *wink*, please feel free to contact me via notecard or IM. A comment here on the website is fine too and won't be published.
I've tried to make these neutral and tasteful to go with most any decor. There is NO NEED to put these up in your shop. I am thrilled if you just keep on designing great things!
Newsbytes
It is more than a month away, but mark your calendar for September 18th when wearing plain gray for a day is the goal. This isn't an anti fashion statement, it is effort to improve brain cancer awareness. You can read more here.
Dreams is offering this Plain Gray Tee in all layers at the main store until September 20th. Basic Slacks in dove gray from Pout arrived via DSN this morn and I had an outfit! This balancing pose is one of several in a set called Balance from Posemaster. Black Leather Ankle boots hale from Shoefly.
Where am I? In my Futurehome studio skybox from the Gentlemen Bastards.
With two exceptionally nice poses per person and menu adjustments, this would be great on your patio or in your sunroom -- bedroom too.
Wonder is wearing wearing a Rock and Roll Tee from SIOPA. Grab it in a gift bag by the door or in the Fall Fun Hunt pack with other goodies. His new bright Color Change Skater Shoes are part of his expanding collection from Duh!; this version is the Poppy Hunt Prize. I was happy to see that he had on the Elven Hunter hair from Alli & Ali Designs (Black Pearl Hunt). Now you can see how sexy it can be for the male folk *wink*. Those spiffy black jeans are from Juice (previously featured).
That some of the early morning wrap up news.
Moving Day

This afternoon was moving in day. While my new stone shack had been in place for awhile, furniture and decorations were sparse. Taking a break from the hunting frenzy of late, I delved into my newer inventory and found some lovely pieces that worked together in my new rustic abode. It's been a long day and I'm pooped, so if you need more info on anything, leave a message on the answering phone *wink* as I'm headed out to the garden to commune with nature. I'll let the pictures speak for me.
Thanks to all the great content creators who furnished my place and to Parajen homes for making my house.
As always, click any photo for a larger picture.

Final Pearls
Themed hunts are fun. I don't keep all of the prizes of course, but part of the excitement is seeing new places and finding new content creators I admire. Pirates and treasure, undersea escapades -- all are part of this adventure. What girl hasn't dreamed of swimming under the sea while listening to tales of The Littlest Mermaid? What boy hasn't enjoyed the adventures of Treasure Island, Captain Hook and countless other tales? The fellows have definitely been included in this hunt and that's only fitting -- as pirates go, they are an intrinsic part of the RP.
Black pearls look good on wenches, ladies and even fairies. The lovely black and diamond necklace and earring set above is the T.S.D Virtual Outfitter prize in the hunt. A skully ring is included for the guys. The feathered and flowing dress comes from Simply Fae @ Avilion Vale. Follow the red X's, find the pearl; the satin and lace lovely is yours.
If blue is your color, then this mermaid outfit and home is for you. The shimmery azul togs by Misteria Loon can be found at the *Pas De Deux* at Mermaid Sea. The lovely ~Panda Candy~Undersea googie gazebo is from Squeaksters.

Avalon Mist not only gives a tour on the way to finding the pearl, they included four full outfits in their bountiful gift -- plus two rings. This is the ladies version of the Renegade set in purple. There is a male version also, plus two other Aristocrat sets for larger avatars. Yeah guys! Renegade includes many layers and style versions and a skirt layer for leg guards (not shown). Shoulder armor without the cape is also an option. SO many choices :D.
These are the last of my picks from the Black Pearl Hunt. Others items may appear in later posts as they work their way from my To Be Blogged folder onto the virtual page. But for now, I'm off on to search some paths.
Happy hunting!
Mehndi at Midnight
Posted by Chic Aeon in shopping on Friday, August 7, 2009

Quiet hours; stars fill the sky and crickets sing through open windows. It is a hot August night.
Tattoos are all the rage these days. They can be fun, expressive, colorful -- or they can be art. MEHNDI from CyberStar BodyArt tattoos is in the latter category; not alone surely, but the company isn't too large. Delicate and feminine, Mehndi speaks of history and tradition.
Mehndi comes in all layers (no socks or gloves) and in both black and henna. Each set comes in both dark and faded versions. The black faded set is shown here. It's beautiful and I love it. There's not a lot more I can say.
Poses by LAP.
Elusive Black Pearls
Difficult to find at times but worth the effort, the Black Pearls offers intriguing themed prizes to those who search with patience.
With the Fall Fun Hunt under my virtual belt, I began the quest for pirate and merfolk goods. While the mission was difficult at times, the bootie (that's pirate talk for things found - not my tush) was pleasing. Shown above is one of two large seating shells from C&D Designs. The other is for mermen of course. Three poses and a click to close for privacy, makes this a homey abode for denizens of the sea. My mer hair is from Alli & Ali and actually called Elven Hunter Hair. It comes in a dozen dark colors and is unisex. Whether land or sea, guy or gal -- it flows beautifully.

My lovely merfolk outfit and AO is from Atargatis. I had an occasion long ago to wear a mermaid outfit and couldn't find one I was impressed with. This is just beautiful and the AO works well. Swimming was never so much fun!

This is the guy outfit called Stranded Steve is from Smooth Designs (at this location). I'm sure it would look better on Wonder, but the pearl alluded him. The outfit comes with scripted sword as well as the one I am wearing. Earrings are included.

And this is the Mary Jo outfit in black from Smooth Designs. So very cute! Different and fun, I love those legging socks! Well I pretty much love it all. You can find versions of these outfits as well as many other styles near the landing point. Look for the cut out models and plan for Pirate Day. Shown with boots from ShoeFly.
Poses by LAP.
If you enjoy adventure and challenge, head out to the Black Pearl Hunt, follow the Xs and find the clamshells with the pearls. It isn't the easiest of hunts, but some of the rewards are definitely worth the effort. Good hunting!
Afternoon Edit: The pearls were a bit easier to find in the middle section of the hunt. I'll be finishing up soon and posting more photos.
Old and New

Comfort comes from familiarity. Excitement is spawned by newness. Put them together and you have --- exciting comfort? familiar newness? However you mix your metaphors in the cauldron of style, it's sometimes rewarding to combine the new with the old. Favorite items get a chance at a different look; currently fashionable finds meld into our virtual closets.
Sey has a new striped mini dress in the lucky board. It won't be there long, so don't procrastinate. The dress comes with a great sculpty collar that includes the open placket ribbing. I'm sure someone else does this, but it's the first example I've seen. With multiple layers included in the set, Xia was able to use a bit of ingenuity. (Go Girl!) She topped the sweater with one of her jeckalicious Nightwalk jackets from last year. The girl won all the colors but blue I think. I just took a quick trip to the shop and they are still in the lucky chairs. So if you weren't around during the week long watch of last winter (?), you might want to take a trip over. You can of course buy these too. They come with three lengths in the set and many armband options.
She also added some WoE jeans and belt and managed to get both the WoE belt and the jacket belt on at the same time. Woot!. Lots of layers and more authenticity than I usually manage. With boots from Lazy Places , she is set for Fall and it won't be long until it arrives.
The dress without any accoutrements is attractive in itself. The stripes are drawn with a freer hand then the norm and somehow this give more authenticity to the complete look. Worth watching the board for a bit? I would think so. This may be available in other colors in the shop, so a little detective work may be in order. Socks from LIKKA*HOUSE are most likely NLA.
New hair is always fun and this great style called Adena is free from Amacci. The large fatpack of colors is on the wall with a bow :D.
Fall Fun Hunt #3: Big Stuff!

The Copper Hot Chocolate Pot and Fall Cookies Tray from Clever Endeavors comes with cups of foaming cocoa; click to get your choice of whipped cream or marshmallow topping. Two choices of cookies are also available. Great for those crispy Fall days when you need a quick warm me up, there are endless servings for all your friends. The cups have a very realistic animation and disappear after a few gulps *wink*. Our creators are getting SO clever! Hooray!
The Bird's Nest from Tweedle is a richly detailed skybox with built in glow, shadows, bright vista and slightly ajar door with sun pouring in around the edges. It comes partially furnished and is mod - copy. Very lovely.
The chaise lounge is the prize from Tuh Leah Decor. The rich Autumn colors work well in the cozy abode.

Want to be the talk of the neighborhood? Living in a basket full of apples might do it *wink*. This dare to be different home is from MollyWorld. If a rustic cabin is more your style, this Little Cabin from Broken Kitty may suit you perfectly.

The Roll in the Hay Cuddle Spot by Roawenwood includes plenty of hay bales, a rustic corral and a blanket perfect for smooching. Click the blanket to rez an easy to use poseball system. With only a few nice choices, it is fairly undaunting. Sometimes fewer is better. No significant other? This is a great alone place too. Just you and the twilight. That works!
Battle of the Boards
Posted by Chic Aeon in freebies
It's amazing what wonderful and sometimes unusual prizes you can win on the boards and in the chairs. Whether you stalk and wait or merely stay alert and aware when you are shopping, a saavy gal or guy can come away with some great items. I took some time with my gal friends this morn. It was show and tell time which is always fun.
My latest wins -- chairs in this case -- were from Agent Orange and Phoenix-Firefall. I love the cocaine crate. Who knows why? It is just quirky enough to tease that inner rebel in me I guess. It goes well in my new stone shack and it has three click through poses. The lucky chair as I noted before is on the top floor next to the freebie room.
My bandages are one of two sets in the current Phoenix-Firefall chairs. The other is a "bloody" version. I added my own blood splatters from >>> moloko <<< . The blood splatters aren't a board win; I'm guessing they were from a hunt some time ago (maybe Halloween?) :D. They may be available in the store, however, should you be in battling mode -- loser style.
Benicia scored perhaps the biggest win by getting the new [BUKKA] leather boots in white. They come in three sizes and you can change the laces colors to other nuetrals. She was over last night when things were fairly calm, but it is definitely crowded now so be prepaired. There are three boards, one with boots. The others hold an ipod and some leather bracelets. Also on B's tally board are TWO tops from WoE, a tank and a hoodie shrug. These aren't new chair items, but they are great additions to your wardrobe :D. Her music bag is from [KUE!] (see below).
Divine also won the fun music bag at [KUE!]. It comes with a nice low priority purse hold that works well with other AOs or at least with Divines *wink*. No purse through your body effects. With a tote filled with goodies, she is ready to shop or hunt or stalk -- well just about any fun activity.
The sharp looking bangles came from the Dark Mouse lucky chair. Some nice earrings are included, but I couldn't get Divine out of her favorite hair so you'll just have to take my word on that. The prizes change in the DM chair so you never know what great surprise is in store.

I have so many great new things to show you! My Objects folder overfloweth with bounty. So these will be quick in the studio posts while I get a semblance of order back into my life. I don't want you to miss out while I'm busy sorting.
First up a huge collection of camo togs from ~*~Smashin Fashion. 30 slaps gets this delivered at midnight and there is always tomorrow if the board is filled. The set includes a huge array of mix and match items including leather and fishnet gloves, a very nice camo bra top, tank and shorts, brown pants and more. There are some great looking sets for sale and ON sale so take a gander. Hair with tinted beret from Joyful Designs. Zbooties from MK Fashion. Pose by LAP.
This cute little butterfly shirt is from a 20 limit MM board at The Caproni Stle. The colors change from time to time it seems and a blue one was on the board earlier; now it is back to pink again. This is a great undertop and comes in two layers. It's a bit like being covered and not at the same time -- or, a blouse tattoo in pink. I can't decide but it seems very mix and matchable and you know how I love that! Lots of colors are available at the store including white. Shown with DCNY jeans. Pose by Tuli.
Have you been keeping up with hO wEAr? If not, this extremely cute dolly outfit complete with animated key with particle effects and gray dolly skin (not shown) is the freebie of the day. Lots of fun and very nicely made. Free until 8 pm SL time. You should know the drill by now. Hit that vote kiosk on your way by :D.
Edit: LOL. I left my jeans on when I put on the Dolly outfit. Actually I LIKE the look, but there are no "leggings" with this set, so if you want this look too *wink*, you'll have to add your own.
Busy busy day here. Time for wine.
I added my all red Dilly Dolls boots which were perfect. Poses by LAP.
Back to unpacking :D
Take Me To Your Tent!

When serendipity steps in, I almost always pay attention! Here's the story.
I was hunting for gold leaves when a "C" came up on a nearby lucky chair. I jumped on; I almost always do - LOL. When I got up another "C" appeared and then a third. OK. Are we paying attention? All three prizes were different. All three looked very nice AND there were folks watching the chairs and congratulating me. I was of course intrigued. And yes, eventually I found the leaf.
I don't often blog silks. Most of the time I feel too naked. I have no idea WHY that is, but I do. These were not only lovely, they covered me up enough that the sans panties idea wasn't so much of a big deal. Both silks and kirtle sets came with really lovely flower jewelry and accessories that could easily enhance more mainstream attire. Add that I won a Moroccan tent with furniture the same day? A post was definitely in order.
The silks are from Roawenwood: Design and Craft's three 30 minute lucky chairs. Some pewter bangles and floor pillows are also prizes. The Royal Monaco Open Air Tent is from Gorean Trading Goods. The tent has been replaced with clothes today (five MM boards in all), but you might want to check back regularly in case it appears again. It came with a lot of very nice furniture which is also available at the store. The textures remind me of my times in Morocco and that's a good thing :D. Thanks to Rana for the tip on this.

Keeping Up: POV
Posted by Chic Aeon in comment
Before unpacking my endless new supply of folders (thank you Fall Fun Hunt, DSN, MM boards and designers) , I have a couple of comments to make. It's been a very busy and fun time for me these first days of August. Even though much of SL is on vacation or lazing in the heat, some of us have been frantically TPing to and fro. While I didn't keep count I suspect that I've visited well over 200 new to me shops in the last three days. Whew!
First time impressions are important and so I wanted to pass those along, mostly to the designers who are working hard in their own little worlds to make great items for the rest of us :D. Here's what I came away with from my latest journeys. Whether a shop is for RL livelihood or simply for fun, most of us get stuck in our self-made molds from time to time. Maybe now is the moment to take a look "from the outside". Bloggers can only do so much to help our designers. After a point, it's all up to you :D.
- I came to a couple of sims where I simply couldn't move. Everything was gray and there were only a few people in the sim. If this is a reoccurring event in your shop's sim (and you DO need to check this) then by all means MOVE. Adding new landmarks to vendors is a chore, but few shoppers are going to stay when they can't see what they are shopping for.
- Vendor pictures! I may be a harsher judge than some shoppers, I admit that; but some of the vendor pictures out there look like they are left over from 2006. Yes, I wasn't here then, but I can imagine - LOL. Gaudy bright backgrounds, no SL lighting, pictures so small you can't possibly see the clothes or items in question -- all these things are killers. If your designs have been around awhile, it might be time to clean house a bit. If they are still good designs two years after their inception, then simply take some new photos. Be honest with yourself. More is not necessarily better. Show off your best and if you haven't sold Product # 164 in the last six months, toss that baby.
- With all that taken care of, some shop redecorating might be order. If you have extra prims use them to make your place homey, glitzy, retro -- whatever your flavor might be. If you have stairs, try and have at least a pose stand or chair on each floor for those of us that love to jump and hate to climb *wink*.
The only newish marketing idea that I came across on my recent journeying was the daily prize gumball machine at [KUE!] . This may be like a Lucky Dip as I sort of missed those altogether, There is a random prize and each avatar can only receive one a day. The prizes range in greatness, but all are good prizes. (I think i I get another frosted cupcake boobie prize I will scream.) While I was watching the lucky boards at Kue!, people were coming in to click and the prizes they won showed up in chat (good marketing). Even better would be a poster with some of the prizes for the month shown so people knew what they "might" get. Clothing designers could have a complete outfit in the prize giver along with other goodies and give away pieces per day -- sort of like fishing.
Those are my thoughts. If they help, great. If they don't pertain to you, great too. I've lost a few favorite shops this month. I don't want to lose any more of you guys.
And yes, I'm coming clean here. While Chic is 24 the gal behind her definitely is not and has much business and retail experience in that other real world including retail stores and service businesses. Got me!
Cheers.
August Rush
Is there a rush? Well yes and no are both correct answers. First up A-Bomb has this really darling new release called No More Words. It comes with slouchy prim collar and sleeve tops -- old fashion mod so you can make them really fit (yeah!). Optional sleeve extensions repeat the skully pattern near the hem. The capris have prim cuffs, but boots could easily be another option. The outfit is $75 through Sunday for any color. But wait. It gets better. There is a Blue Sale going on. All blue items (or color change shoes that have blue as an option) are $25 through Sunday. So if you love blue, get your patootie down to the shop and pick up a bunch of new wardrobe additions.
I added basic clogs from Duh!, my favorite Ticky Tacky hoops, and my Marlon Brando hat from *Aleida*.
OK, here's some really important news. You see how well that hat fits? You see the cute curls peaking out from under that perfect fit? The hair comes attached to the hat, of course. Well doesn't it? Nope. It does NOT.
Surprise! This is the new hat hair from sf designs. Not only does it come in four colors and sized for both gals and guys, it comes with a fedora with color change band. And --- and --- it is the FREEBIE for August. Many of us avoid hats simply because the hair is such an issue. I have home made "hat hair" which is fine. But honestly, it has little style. This is shiny and soft and simply great. I was SO surprised when I tried on what I thought was the hat to find my head crowned in these lovely locks.
Anyway, you need this. It solves so many problems and the fedora is a great look with everything from Annie Hall menswear to leather corsets and fishnet. So zip on over to sf design and pick up your great gift. You have until the end of August, but don't forget.

Adventuring and Surprises

Out hunting and gathering (note the low prim outfit), I found a few places of interest. Hence a short informational post is a comin'.
Photography Studio Supplies has a huge assortment of FREE USE photo backdrops. These come with modeling stands, but the ones I tried had the antique MM model poses and we don't use those any more do we? Please nod your head in the affirmative. Good girls *wink*. I did try them out though and the poses seem to be low priority so that you can use many of your own poses instead. Just jump on the stand and then play your pose. There were several gals in the bloggers group looking for free studios, so this is one option.
On a personalesce note, I found a really fun shop called Agent Orange at Desperation Kelly. It has the most interesting "stuff" and that is definitely the correct term for this imaginative retro, grunge, eclectic collection of goodies. While looking for the gold leaf I found a watermelon (yeah) , a lucky chair with regular store merchandise and a top floor full of great freebies. So venture over and take a look. That's me in the top picture on a free couch with three great click through poses that fit me perfectly. Can we say "Woot"? And as I was typing this, I was watching the lucky chair while checking my SLURLs. I am now the proud owner of an old crate marked "cocaine". You just never know when you might need one of those. It has a pose with it. Fun.
And for you modern and techie folks, I found a good looking TV on a MM board at a very spiffy store called !-Icarus Home And LIghting. I have no idea what the number is as it was in lockdown, but if you want a nice looking TV, come by early tomorrow and see if it is still available.
Several new places are now in my landmarks --- all from the Fall Fun Hunt which I just finished. With lots of unpacking to do, I'll be off. Getting my box cutter out and those packages opened, I'll be seeing ya later.
Fall Fun Hunt #2: Flowers
Frolicking in the flowers is always fun. And with this great sunflower arbor from Seasonal Creations you can have your own end of summer flora. In your garden, at the entrance to your house, even in your store as an eye catching decoration to host new Autumn releases; it all works. 34 prims of beauty to remind us why the pre winter months are some of our favorites.
My jacket and striped skirt is the prize from Ema's. while the pants in the top photo are the girls version from the Alexohol pack. I'm thinking that jacket would look fine on a guy, so check that out fellas.
Edit: Ema wrote me the next day to let me know there is NOW a top in the box as well as the jacket. So if you were an early bird on the hunt, go back and get that missing piece :D. Gotta love it!
It's no secret that I love belts filled with "stuff", so this picnic belt from [KUE!] is a BIG BIG hit with me. So much fun. I went back to the shop to see what I could find. There are three lucky boards, one with a very cute purse as well as a gumball machine that gives you a random prize each day for a click. I'll be checking on that purse :D. While I was there I signed up on the SOM and received this great sack of baguettes as a welcome gift. My tummy is grumbling :D.
The sunflowers by my front door are one of the prizes from Ruth's Creations.

Is there something for everyone on the Fall Fun Hunt? Probably. Halfway through, I've found more than the usual amount of guy stuff, many home and garden accessories and very little jewelry, hair or shoes. We'll see if the rest of the hunt follows suit.
I was a really good friend and sent my buddies LMs to some hunt locations I thought they'd like. Actually Wonder's tee was transfer, so he didn't even have to find the golden leaf. Lucky boy! So here we all are in the flower field with a group pose from LAP. Benicia's pose ball is entitled, "watch that hand" and she does look a bit startled. Wonder looks a tad sheepish and Divine simply looks divine as she usually does - LOL.
Divine is wearing a cute sweater top with great detailing from Cipria Couture. Her jeans are the version for guys from Alexohol. Wonder's manly in maroon tee is from Another World. Benicia's cute top is one of two versions from JAIRIS.Top poses Vain and Pffiou. Group shots and flower field poses by LAP.
Dark Desires

I'm going to make a guess that most of us don't walk on the wild side all that often in our real world. Should we choose to be "bad girls" in our virtual one, or even if we just enjoy showing off a lot of skin and our latest tattoos, the new releases from Rha! are something to consider.
The Just Doit sets come with many layers as well as a choice between mini skirt and pants. With all that epidermal real estate you can show off your favorite tattoos easily. The outfits come in a large variety of colors to fit your moods. I bet you guessed I chose rust to go with my hair. You are correct! Give the lady a prize.
The Seduction heels with prim toes come with two HUDS; one is for coloring, the other for sound and AO options. The HUD for skin and toenail change is a bit different than what I have tried before. I'm not sure if the skin color change is easier or not as the match was perfect out of the box. Happy dance here! So ---- I am currently wearing the group gift from Tuli's Hope series in tan. If you are one of the thousands of gals who picked up that gift and tan works for you; you are set.
The color change HUD comes with instructions and works on a RGB system. I did change the toenails from the default red to a pretty pearly pink simply by adding 64 (the largest number choice) to the nail color twice. If you go astray there is an easy "revert to default" button. You need to keep track of the change in your head or on paper so you can match the feet. All in all I found it fairly easy. These fit me the best of any prim toed shoes I have tried, so if you know you are sized similarly, they will likely fit you well.
The shoes come with an optional Boot Fixer which I was eager to try out. You know those poses that you love but the feet are just a mess? Maybe your furniture has some of those and so you look at it lovingly rather than sitting? Well this is supposed to fix the problem, and while my tests were brief, it seemed to do the job. I could see it rearranging the foot to be in the same angle as the leg. I'm guessing that is what the script does. You can buy a HUD for other shoes at the shop. I'm guessing a lot of gals -- especially bloggers and designers -- will like this.
My new tattoos come from KARNIVAL and are in the lucky camper at the satellite store. The overall pattern works well when you want to be understated and show LOTS of skin. I left on my stocking tattoos from the morning and let them blend together for a little extra punch.
My Shibari Tags, the naughty version, hale from Dark Eden. I featured them when they first came out, but this seemed like a perfect outfit for a pairing. The tag I chose says "For Sale" and trust me, that is the tamest of the bunch.
The Alley Backdrop comes from the MM board at Soulless Productions. Finding lots of new boards is one plus of gridwide hunting. This works well with a good angle for realism. It is MOD (Really? Yes!) and so I changed the plain black stage area to the asphalt texture we all have in our libraries. If you aren't a builder, you could easily take copies of this and add your own textures. It comes with a flaming trash can, but I added some old grunge props from my inventory for a personal look.

Fall Fun Hunt #1: Blacks

First, a little philosophy before I tell you about the shot above. These are my personal favorites. I'm not planning to show you all the items, or even all the good - worthy - nice - you might like 'em goodies in the hunt. My shining stars may not be yours. Still, I am guessing that since 67% of you are return folks each day (yeah I have stats now), you must like some of the things I do - LOL. Along with these first items, I have a few that will make it into other posts. And yes, some will definitely be just for the guys.
I'm working with themes these days. It's more challenging for me and hopefully more exciting for you to read. So I'll be handling the hunt prizes in that same way.
The dramatic shadowbox painting is from DragonLady Designs @ Artworks Gallery. Modern and statement making with a great wall shadow; it can enhance your home, work as a photo prop -- or both! Simply click to resize for larger or smaller spaces.
I love this Emo Dress from !Siopa. Short, neutral, sexy, fun and DIFFERENT! Yeah! It is my favorite in a very generous gift pack of nice goodies including a cute pastel mini and something for the guys you'll be seeing later.
The Earth Jewel - Imperio Links Bracelet made my fav list for a few reasons. First it is very versatile. Second, it resizes beautifully and easily. Third it has a PICTURE color change HUD. Just get that baby up on your screen and see the many color change options. No more guessing what "green 2" might be *wink*. Gold stars for technology.
One of several very nice tattoos in the first third of the hunt, these Vine leg tattoos from Emi'z Tatz come in all bottom layers including socks. There is a second vine on the back of the opposite leg so you are fashionable both coming and going. Again, stars in my book for being both well done and different. This could be a way to test out those tattoo waters.
My hair and shoes and not part of the Fall hunt, but they were free :D. The Bozena hair is only one color of many in the August *Dark Mouse* SOM gift. There aren't any archives, so get on the list this month in order to receive next months prezzie.
Double straps with buttons trim these adaptable charcoal Jane Heels from Wishbox. Slap that MM board and get yourself a pair. They are still available.

Hunting, Hunting Everywhere

SO -- Are there enough hunts for ya? I think so. Leaves and hearts and poppies and pearls and I heard there were hot dogs but haven't seen any. I am about a third of the way through the Fun Fall Hunt and while I still have a lot of unpacking to do, I hope to have a post of favorites for you tomorrow morn.
My impression is that this is a very mixed hunt. There are lots of new folks; this is good. And I found a couple of places I was very happy to learn about. In general though the shops seem sort of retro -- not in the sense of The 50s and 60s *wink*, but in the sense of going back along the SL timeline. I have to admit I skipped hunting in a few stops. Sorry, but it is true. On the plus side, I've come across a few familiar names that I suspect will have something fun, and I clicked a couple of MM boards. We'll just see what the morrow brings.
So, until then, I'm signing off and looking forward to a glass of RL wine.
CAIO.
PS. Oh, this was a bit funny. I am faithfully in my fairly low ARC hunting garb doing the duck walk in the name of lag prevention and a nice lady offered to give me an AO because I looked new. Had to smile at that one as some days I definitely feel OLD.
Maybe it was my bare feet :D.
No poses were used in the development of this low lag post.
New Casual Digs

Lots of news in my personal world and I am doing a little happy dance. I have a new home courtesy of Parajen Homes SOM. The textures are to die for. The window curtains actually move in the breeze, AND you can change the movement from breezy to gusty via chat. This is a gift that will remain in the archives for awhile and they encourage new folks to come join and pick it up. So don't be shy.
Edit: This has been removed from the history as of June 3. Sorry. Still a nice place to look for a new abode.
Some new furniture went perfectly with my new house. The extremely nice wardrobe with opening door and drawers comes from the LB at TOKONTYA (thanks Beanie!). Benicia won it this morning while I was busy watching for the last color of the JUNWAVE lucky board hair (whew, I finally got it!).
The book seat was a MM board win from Lyla's Eclectic Furniture. It is still available if you want to get some friends together and slap that board. The animation is lovely and the books are arranged artistically. Use it in your home or as a photo pro

My outfit includes some new releases from Moonshine. The Basic Tees come in lots and lots of fun colors as well as having plain versions as well as a stitched version with detailing on the front. The Candylegs sock are also in the many choices of colors category and come with optional prim droopy bows for the side (very cute). You can wear the socks alone or with the Crochet Stocking (again many color choices). And you could of course wear the crochet stocking (undies layer only) with boots. I'm looking forward to that as well as breaking out some of the bright colored tees. You will definitely be able to spot me in the board watch crowds *wink*.
Basic shorts from E! Eclectic.
Poses by SugarMill and LAP.

This is just a picture I took yesterday as I waited and waited and waited to get the last color of JUNWAVE LB hair. It was the middle board and the one I wanted the most (sigh). There are still tons of folks there watching the boards and this hair seems to look good on just about everyone. Lots of folks are wearing it while waiting to get another color. That tells you something. So zip on over and watch while you work or email or talk on the phone *wink*. Remember these are GROUP boards. This may be the longest running board / chair watch that I have been a part of. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
Cheers.
Romance and Weddings

Is there a wedding in your future? If so, congratulations. If it is only a dream at present, you can still visit the Wedding Expo. Romance can be yours even if you haven't found that perfect someone. Lot of pretty booths with a huge assortment of all things pertaining to love and romance. There is a gift table in the middle of the exhibit, so work your way towards the center pavilion. Benicia's favorite gift was this sexy yet demure gown from KAY COUTURE (main shop URL). The charm bracelet from Flirt (main shop URL) goes nicely.
And if you need a truly beautiful fountain for your wedding, or simply want to keep the romance going so you may GET there *wink*, the new group lucky boards at Belle Belle should definitely be on your radar. The fountain is gorgeous as you might expect and there is a wonderful, loving animation included for special moments. There are two sets of boards for the clicking: (SLURL#1) and (SLURL#2).

Guys haven't been left out of the Wedding Expo gifts; a very nice shirt and dark jeans set comes from *EROS Fashions by Keth* (main shop SLURL). The shirt comes with a variety of layers and choices of open or closed, tucked or untucked. Also for the guys, a complexly detailed onyx bracelet from Smooth Designs (main shop SLURL). Don't worry ladies, Smooth Designs has a nice gift for you too in the same pack :D.

Lastly I wanted to mention that this VERY pretty umbrella lawn set comes from Antique Artistry. The textures are impressive, the sizing for us fairly normal folks *wink* and the details are lovely. So check out the store if you are in need of some Victorian elegance.
Top pose by LAP.
On Stage
On stage. Spotlights with thousands of fans or a smoky lounge with a loner, many of us have wanted to be there. You can be one step closer with this cute free guitar from Mehndi. The double beaded black bracelet hales from the same shop. Rumor is that a new furniture dollarbie will be out today, and a pretty hand tattoo is also available. The guitar comes sized for guys, but a tiny bit of prim editing on the strap had it fitting me just fine.
My new boots (please note that the red laces coordinate with my guitar) are from the Studio M'z lucky chairs. A white version of the same boots is yours if you find the watermelon. I added shiny leggings from MALT. a black fur bolero from sf design and my outfit was complete. With great new hair is from JUNWAVE and a stylish belly tattoo from .:CoLLisions, I am working my way towards stardom.
Leaving the stage for a bit. I need to go practice that guitar.

Epilogue :D
When I trekked over to .:CoLLisions, I found this clever tattoo set complete with latex glove giver *wink*. So much fun, I just had to show you. The designer? Akasha Wachmann of Delirium.
