Wheat Fields

I visited The Far Away on OpenSim the other evening and that inspired me to take a trip to my own stand of country wheat.

From BAIASTICE for FaMESHed, the Alya dress which comes in three versions, long and solid (shown), long and sheer and short. All are finely detailed withe mesh extras. Many colors are available.

If you have a special event to attend, be sure and try this dress.

Second Spaces

A quick and timely post to let you know that you can pick up the Audrey Sectional for Fifty Linden Friday at Second Spaces. Two versions, pink and teal - both are texture change to switch between patterned and solids.

AND for -- The House Hunt (Love To Decorate) which starts on Feb 1, find the Pratt Table which includes the accessories. A paid hunt, 20L per item, all items are meant to be valued at 200L.

Nothing up yet on the website as I type this, but check it out as the month begins.

Starry Days

Day or night this charming sheath mini clings to every curve and shows off your -- let's say attributes. Best of all it is a group gift from Loordes of London. Find it and quite a few other nice mesh goodies in the archives.

Another great Uber release (gonna be a good round; I need to get over there) -- this one from Cheeky Pea. The Stardreamer Hanging bed offers singles and couples animations (PG or A) and is packed full of details. The textures are simply scrumptious.

The Zodiac art is lots of fun. One framed piece can be found for each of the twelve signs.  There is also a set of stacked rugs that coordinate with the bed textures.

Flowing lines, smooth textures -- the darkness of midnight.

From BAIASTICE, the floor length sheer kristine dress which comes in many lovely hues. Panties are included.  Find it at Uber where the theme is "Celestial".  A solid version comes for the less daring among us.

Are you ready? As the month ends it will be time for a new round of The Challenge. This theme is Community.

From %Percent ,  the Transit Wardrobe; this one is the azure version. At only 12 land impact it is packed with details. Lots of animations and on page TWO of the menu there are some really fun ones like this "shoe" tie. The empty box appears automatically.

My outfit can be found at SLC where you get two toned mini-dress, mesh slouchy boots and nice nylons with seams in one set. Look for the SLC Mesh Elegant Outfit Love Me black. Other colors and patterns are available (black, red and white in two pattern versions).

Soft Rains

The Bradbury version of A Tattered Page will be ending in a week. If you haven't visited the library, I urge you not to miss the lovely setting.

Each designer was asked to cite the passage from the book (The Martian Chronicles) that inspired their creation.

Here is the selection that accompanies this outfit (coat, boots, gas mask and shadow) from ImmateriA:

Ten o'clock. The sun came out from behind the rain. The house stood alone in a city of rubble and ashes. This was the one house left standing. At night the ruined city gave off a radioactive glow which could be seen for miles.

Ten-fifteen. The garden sprinklers whirled up in golden founts, filling the soft morning air with scatterings of brightness, The
water pelted windowpanes, running down the charred west side where the house had been burned evenly free of its white paint.

The entire west face of the house was black, save for five places.
Here the silhouette in paint of a man mowing a lawn. Here, as in a photograph, a woman bent to pick flowers. Still farther over, their images burned on wood in one titanic instant, a small boy, hands flung into the air; higher up, the image of a thrown ball,
and opposite him a girl, hands raised to catch a ball which never came down.

The five spots of paint-the man, the woman, the children, the ball-remained. The rest was a thin charcoaled layer."
There was a time when people worried daily if the bombs would drop and the atom-smashing legacy that was unveiled at the end of World War 2 would leave us all as it did the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This book was written in those times.

These days we have other worries. We have convinced ourselves that it simply couldn't happen; that no one would possibly dare.

History -- on this time line anyway -- hasn't supported the text written in 1950. Colonists didn't meet any Martians with golden eyes and dark skin.

We did however make their acquaintance within the pages of his book.

I would like to do a little rewind here and revisit A Tattered Page release from Anachron. I mentioned that there was a scorched version of the house that I featured in this post.

This seems a perfect time to show you that version.

Lovers in Love

That hearts and flowers holiday is close at hand. And even if it were far, far away on the calendar -- who doesn't love LOVE?

Out from Cheeky Pea for  N-TwentyOne.

Both PG and A versions of the chair, both with texture change options.  The back of the frame was so nicely made I flipped it around for an extra design element!

Tick Tock

Time marches on.

We can't catch it.

It is always just out of reach.

From ArisAris, the Feelingly dress with six texture options by hud. It really was difficult to choose. Choose from a black and white version to cover all your basic needs. Or pink and deep red for romance. Add two textures in earthy colors and you have plenty of choices.

The Isabelle clock with selves and books from {what next) comes in many choices of finishes and includes with and without chime versions. Texture-changing parts for the clock face, books decor and inside shelving. Find it at The Liaison Cooperative.

Now there have been some great new releases from Bliensen + MaiTai lately; they just haven't been for "my" feet. So, we are going to PRETEND.  This Rumba style for 21 shoe would look perfect with my dress above -- so check them both out!

Here are all the options:

rigged shoes for:
Slink feet (high resp. flat)
TMP The Meshproject/The Shops (Ouch! resp. flat)

non-rigged shoes for:
Belleza Venus
Maitreya Lara
CMFF mbody
(all sized and adjusted for shoe-size 0)

Day Dreams

From Cheeky Pea for Project Limited, the Remoli Daybed and ladder bookshelf. Feminine and classic the bed comes in both A and PG versions and features a HUGE number of animations.  The bed weighs in at 10 li and the go with any decor bookshelf at a mere 1. There are two texture options; natural (shown) and bright.

Only  a limited number of these items will be sold so get over there lickety split.

Talkin' Bout That Bad Girl

Take a 180 turn from my last post and see that SLX covers ALL SORTS of territory.

This full outfit (minus tattoo) is GWEN. A hud let you choose between five colors for the top. Boots are unrigged and for system feet.

This is a very cute "bad girl" outfit!

Nalya. I love it!  Color huds of course.

Kitchens. Those of us that cook are very picky about that room.

Now I have to admit this is a super fast post, one done on the fly as this new kitchen island from Second Spaces just came in and I am way past "quiting time". I noted in the background of this lead photo other items out on my building pad in the background. If you are a blogger, you likely know how that goes. You can see the great island; that is really all that matters. We do what we can do and in a time crunch this is it.

Find it in either recycled wood or white (shown) at Second Spaces for The Neighborhood.

The island comes with a fun saying on the chalkboard. A plain texture is included so you can add your own saying or just make it plain if that is your style. For me? This works just fine.

I am in a very lovely house made for A Tattered Page.  It has been sitting on my building pad for many days waiting for a pairing to come along. If you  are a blogger, you likely know how THAT can be also.

The Anachron - Soft Rains House - Clean Version has beautiful lines and fine textures. It is light and airy -- homey at the same time. While it has a bit of a "modern" feel, it could fit into many times and places.

67 land impact -- and that includes a pretty spectacular kitchen!

There is also a scorched version of this house which goes along with the Ray Bradbury story, There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury (in The Martian Chronicles).

My outfit is great but there is already a post in the queue, so tune in Monday!

The Agent

Wanna buy this house? Of course you do. And this gal definitely plans to be the one to earn the commission.

From SLX, the Pilot outfit which includes lovely and ladylike sheath skirt, texture tank, tied sweater (four color choices) necklace, glasses and fashionable SLink high pumps. Oh my!

And here is your new home, the petit chateau from Barnesworth Anubis for COLLABOR88.

Simple Things

I am a believer in simple things. Clean lines, reminders of the past -- both work for me. I don't like icing on my cake; I do love my cake however.  Out from flowey for COLLABOR88, unico chairs. An educated guess tells me the name refers to the leg shape *wink*. Nicely done with simply lines and some very nice poses, it is a multipurpose chair fit for home or photo shoots. A variety of pastel colors are available.

From Second Spaces for TLC, a great little shabby chic daybed with poses and subtle animations for girls and boys and couples.

This bed has been handed down through the generations. Filled with history and new fabric upgrades, it is ready to be part of your world.

The room divider also whispers of times long past. Both are available in dark tones as well as light.

The simple top, skirt and belt (all one garment) is new from Ducknipple.  The Liz set comes with a hud of course, but wait for it ......

there are TWELVE colors for the top and TWELVE for the skirt. That is a lot of combos!  Dress it up, dress it down, add a scarf or you favorite jewelry. It is ready to be a palette -- in just about any color you can imagine.

My hair is that new release from ExXeSs, JEZINKA; I LIKE IT!

Fire Flowers in Their Hands

See all the carnival lights? There are beautiful
boats as slim as women, beautiful women as slim as boats, women the color of sand, women with fire flowers in their hands.
It took me awhile to find the reference to the Martian fire flower bowls from ISD for The Tattered Page. Now, to be fair, Stacey Farspire made a lovely note explaining the reference. But really, where is the fun in that?

I am actually just a bit over halfway through the book as I type this, hopefully finished as this article posts. It has been an incredible journey and I am looking forward to the remanding pages. There is a story that I have remembered for decades and even before starting this collection of chronicles it was haunting me. I suspect I will find my memories in the paragraphs to come.

Retro Diva

The theme is Opulence over at Uber.  From ISON a classically vintage sweater and skirt with a bit of 2015 flair.   Plain in back, patterned in front, it reminded me of days gone by and so I opted to photographic it in the retro house.

The pattern, amazingly, looks almost exactly the same with materials turned off. I was amazed.  A plus for those of you that don't turn them on!

There are eight colors to choose from, many of them neutrals. Out of character, I went for PLUM.

Shadows de Deux

I always wanted to live on a world with multiple moons. Two moons; two shadows and the remnants of a civilization past -- The Martian Chronicles.

From A Tattered Page, Mrs.K +FGInc. from Fallen Gods -- golden skins (Mr.K) for both females and males. SL nail and Tango appliers.

New from lassitude & ennui, Thylacine boots for We Love RolePlay; many colors are available.

New from ExXess,  DRIOMA: color huds - hair bases are included.

 Outfit from Endorphin (older).

Meet Me in the Conservatory

I am sure those words were murmured often a century or so ago.

From Trompe Loeil for COLLABOR88 a gorgeous Victorian conservatory fit for many gardens -- past or present.

Intricate windows make gorgeous shadow patterns. Really, it is simply lovely.

Ruffles and Lace

Now my title sounds like a "sugar and spice - nice little girl" post, but while certainly feminine there is nothing juvenile about this dress. There is even a see-through version  (oh my!).

Many colors, all very lovely await you at COLLABOR88.

Find them all at the BAIASTICE booth.

My location is also new for this round of 88;  watch for a full report tomorrow.

The Comfort of Silence

Alone amidst the velvet darkness of infinite space I wonder what brought me here, what puzzle pieces collided to produce this instant in time.

The others, wrapped in cocoons of their cryogenic slumber, will never know the peacefulness of the vast void. My memories are my only companions, my fantasies my only distraction.

And then there is -- the comfort of silence.

A Tattered Page - Dark Skin and Golden Eyes

Larger photo here.

I grew up with Bradbury and Heinlein, Herbert and Card. Tucked away in my 5 x 8 room I journeyed to far away places no one had ever seen. I roamed spaceships and met alien races -- and sometimes wondered it if the future would be as writers imagined.

A Tattered Page opens today. This round's book is Ray Bradbury's, The Martian Chronicles. As I reread the pages I had visited a few decades ago I watched for hints as to who I might be in my role as chronicler.

Dark skin. Golden eyes.

It echoed in my mind.

I have left myself in the dark library as I type, lit only by the golden light of the Martian sun. Well, perhaps it is only the amber tones of the stained glass, but the feeling is the same -- magical.

I love the idea that designers find inspiration in written words. Don't miss a visit to see which prosaic passages became their muse.

I am wearing the Roawenwood Moody Martian Mask; the Discontent version as the Martians didn't seem to be the happiest of folk, at least in Heinlein's view. It comes with a color change hud; I of course chose gold.

Dark skin. Golden eyes.

My eyes are part of a mask and makeup set from Chaos, Panic & Disorder.

Visit the Tattered Page Library. Bring your memories.

Items can also be found at the stores of the participants.

A White Page

Shadows dance across the white page.

New in today's post, a messy updo from MINA for The Chapter Four, Vera.  A casual look that can pass as a party do for those that don't need to worry about "appearances". I like that!

My necklace comes with a hud that let's you change all parts and pieces at your whim. You could play for hours or go with most any combo as they seem to all work well together.  Find the Ani set (earrings and ring are also available) at MEVA!

A stylish set of ankle boots in an extensive palette of colors is out from BAIASTICE for FaMESHed.

Cami and trousers are also from BAIASTICE (not new but still very spiffy!)

The Mesh Project - Full Body Mesh 2015

Mesh bodies abound these days and while I haven't purchased any, I have tried most of them. Strawberry did a very nice photo showing the differences in the bodies (and there are many): I appreciated that input. Such a popular gal. She works hard and deserves the kudos she garners!

The update to the The Mesh Project body came to me in the mail (plain brown wrapper and all, ya know). But even though I had been over to the shops VERY recently, I still didn't have the newest hud. Hmmmmmm. So a trip over and much looking and I finally found it. I have to say that while the body is very nice the shopping is a pain (well, honestly even after a dozen trips over there -- it is).

The GOOD news is that the retro neck (I like my face just fine thank you) is much improved (no Photoshopping in this pic). There still isn't a color anywhere near my regular skin so we are in tan mode once again.

I was very interested to see how garments would work with this body since the free version has no alpha layer options built in. While I am sure there must be something out there that would work, Chandra's group gift which fit me very much like a second skin on my system body, did NOT work at all.

I felt a little odd when I first put the mesh body on. Even though I had changed the feet and tweaked the shape for a former edition of the body I felt way too long and thin. So I added a few pounds here and there and that was better.

I picked up the male body while I was at The Shops, and I will try that out soon.

My super sexy prop for this shoot is the new Kezia Bed from Trompe Loeil for FaMESHed which comes in several styles, two tones and of course PG and A versions. There are add on ambient maps if you want to make your own textures.

Animations abound!!!!!!

My hair is a new release from eXxEsS, JEZINKA which is OMG -- SHORT!  I love it.

A Cozy Weekend

Out on weekend special from SLC, this roomy cable sweater with pretty texture jeans that fit into warm and cuddly boots.  I added a scarf from a hunt long ago. You can never be to warm in the snow -- well me anyway.

The Kezia Bench with Pillow is part of the Trompe Loeil release for FaMESHed. The wood is distressed white (think Shabby Chic) that can be tinted any color you like!  Woot. The texture for the pillow and cushion are very lovely and just my style. Hence it was difficult to choose so I coordinated with my outfit; well natch.

A version without pillow is also available. There are AO map add-ons should you want to texture to match existing furniture. There is also a super romantic bed, but that will be another post with more fitting attire.

Ski Country

From Cheeky Pea (who has been VERY busy lately) a quirkly niche piece especially for those with winter sims .......

A SKI LIFT Prop.    The Aneto Ski Lift Seat  can be found at Seasons Story when it opens. I don't have a landmark and it looks like the event  moves, so check Seraphim next week if you aren't hooked up with those in the know.  There are three texture choices of pillow and throw. (They change as a set).

I COULD have waited to show you, but  it is SO CUTE I just couldn't resist sharing. There are also ski props (separate from the lift and could easily go inside a home.  Wall art letters spelling "SKI" make up the last of this release.

I was partially dressed in a pretty in pink oufit (hair too, aren't you proud of me for being different?) so donned some more fit for skiing jeans.

My jacket is a new release from 20.FIVE , the Mesh Lipita Jacket. Jeans are also from 20.FIVE and some of my favorites (Jan Skinny Jeans). Both come with color change huds.

Just out from Vanity Hair a cute and sassy number with a clip called Karma.

Not too practical for skiing, but hey this is virtual land, a new group gift of shoes from GOS.

So if you missed the announcement get over there and pick up your copy.
