Late To The Party

It has been a wild September.

Winding down now I am playing catchup. Late but not to be forgotten are two great furniture releases, the Classic Bathroom Collection  from Trompe Loeil (September @ Fameshed)  and the Second Spaces - Elizabeth Guest Room linen cabinet and shelf (The Neighborhood last weekend).

Both notable and packed full of details they are worth hunting down at the shops!

Difficult to see all you want to see? Never fear the GIANT photo is up on Flickr here.

It is Tuesday early morn as I type this. All gray and naked, nothing is working. I am guessing that if I looked at the grid report it would be dire and the database would be mentioned. So be careful my lovelies -- it is messy out there this morning.

The Morning After

Two new fun releases combine in a thematic post.  The Unmade Bed  -- is just that. Well there are also plenty of extras like a shirt draped lamp, rumpled clothes and a pack of condoms. This of course is an adult item, but PG folks aren't left out. There is a version for them also. A great bit of realism for your virtual life, and if you have a contemporary role play sim? Perfect. There are two main versions tonally and the quilt changes accent color for extra choices. The store? Sway's! The place Uber.

My hair, just out from Vanity Hair is appropriately named Pajamas Party!  I had to smile at that.

Here is a look at the complete set. Singles and couples animations are included.

Neighborhood Lights

Out for The Neighborhood from CARGO, the Cyberjunk Streetlamp.

OK, we are going to have to backup here - LOL. While this is listed as being out today I did some sleuthing and happily found a new inworld shop (yeah) which is very cute. The streetlamp was not in attendance. Those of you that need (yes, for us city folks NEED is a good term) these lights, just remember where they come from. And, they may appear before the day is over.

[Afternoon note]: So the scoop is I was completely confused and was SURE that The Neighborhood was a Sunday thing. Apparently not or not now anyway. So my mistake. I did check and these will be back at the store and on the Marketplace sometime soon. AND as I type this (well in tandem) I am redoing the city with more streets and lights and buildings -- so a new look.

I was thrilled to get these in. I love the items from CARGO; such a sister niche gal that Vikki. The lights come in three styles with a single lamp (no walk apparatus) in the mix.  I have big plans for these in the city.

My outfit is from Ducknipple, the Viral dress. The hud changes the accent colors.   Boots by BAIASTICE.

New skins from a new shop -- crow. This goth skin, sophie comes in four skin tones with this being the most saturated. It can easily cross over to non-goth stylings. Skin packs include four makeups per pack.

There are fantasy skins to be found here too, perfect for the upcoming holiday. I suspect you will be seeing some on these pages in October.

Misty Clouds

The Cheeky Pea Corset Chair can be found at a new adult furniture event called Consensual.  The good news for some of us is that it also comes in a PG version.

Exotic Scheherazade slippers by Eclectica - so very sexy.
Hair by Lelutka.

Now there is a bit more of a story to this post. Tuesday last a blogger in my blogger support group was wondering how to get depth of field when taking big photos (like 3000 or so). Some folks said it wouldn't work. I chimed in (during a meeting that I was supposed to be paying attention to :D) that I do it all the time. Settings were asked for and of course they are different each time; I just play until it works.

This was taken at 3840 x 2373 which is my norm.

So here we are those that wanted to know. In THIS instance, these were the settings. May that help you in your DOF adventures.

The end of the month is approaching. Time to make sure you made it to all the great shopping events that have been underway this month. This Fractured Necklace is a fun piece that can go from casual to dressy without a blink of an eye. It hales from 22769 and can be found at The Jewelry Fair. The metal on this is silver but with a little bit of modding magic I easily made a perfect match for ....

the :{MV}: Libertine Corset and Skirt in Copper.  Find this at A Clockwork Spiral. And while it "could" be part of a steamy styling, it doesn't need to be. There are many items at the event that can cross genres.

You still have time to visit A Clockwork Spiral. Wander the photogenic streets, listen to some music; shop.

In this post the Echelon" Jacket - Oxblood and Gold from Senzafine. With many colors to choose from, I amazingly bypassed traditional steamy brown for something a bit different. Runs large.

Super fun and very appropriate, these Dark Passions - Koffin Nails - Rivets & Steam come in several colors and have a plainer version without the cogs and wheels.

These are a great addition to your Slink nail collection.

The Renaissance Hunt

The Renaissance Hunt is underway. I didn't have enough free time (busy busy busy) to do the whole hunt, but I did venture out to look at some of my favorite spots and came away with some lovely things.

* chair and table set (wine goblet gives wine) from Noctis
* Baelish Renaissance Cabinet and ceramics from Kismet
* rug from Spyralle

If you are feeling Joan of Arc ish, you can pick up this very nice helmet prize  at Chimeric Arts & Fashions.

This "Randir" Tunic Jacket from Senzafine comes in many colors and also for males. It is a great addition to your role play wardrobe (NOT a hunt item).

All the SLURLS are here:

You are looking for a small purple creature. You need to be within 10 meters when you click to get your prize.

Dystopic Diva

It's pretty rustic over at Uber this month -- in that last days, world is over, we must carry on -- kinda way. Of course carrying on means being stylish along the way. There are lots of great wearables for both gals and guys as well as some pretty tremendous niche items.

This is the scrapyard skirt from CARGO.  Three neutral color choices and optional belt let you style as you prefer.

And as you can see, this skirt moves well!
So grab a demo and see if it looks as good on you as it does on me - LOL.

My windy Lena hair is out from MINA for My Attic.
The 22769  Serpentia Necklace comes in three color choices; find it at The Jewelry Fair.

My perfectly coordinating top is unfortunately very antique; earth wind fire -stone-top from EMO-tions.

Steamy Stuff

It's been a frenzy of late, so many great venues to explore, so many specialty items to discover.  As we reach the mid term of two prominent shopping scenes, it is a perfect time to visit. Crowds have dissipated some; all the good stuff is still there.  My favorite time to shop.

In the photo above a rustic fountain that could fit into many themes, the Ravenshire Village Fountain from Roawenwood @ the Home and Garden Expo. It comes with separate grass area. You can use the fountain on its own or with a very pleasing grass and rock base.

This photo also shows off the new Greasemonkey Pant from ~ Refined Wild ~ @ a Clockwork Spiral.  These are fitted mesh and happily seemed to do a very good job at that fitting part. Yeah! The pants come with color hud for both fabric and metal parts. There are three fabric choices - leather, cloth and denim. They have a very high waist which I love.

Delicate or bold, ladylike or bad girl -- many sides of Victorian and Steampunk mix and mingle at A Clockwork Spiral.

Here a finally detailed Wayfinder choker from lassitude & ennui pairs with one of a large collection of gacha monocles from Souzou Eien.

These SpatSmasher Boots are also a new release from ~ Refined Wild ~ @ a Clockwork Spiral. They too come with a hud. It has MANY choices; (see how good I am I took a photo for you!)

HGE - Dutchie

Along with a very impressive mansion (see in and earlier post ), Dutchie offers plenty of smaller items for your Home and Garden Expo buying pleasure.

Furniture comes with feature full menus to change colors, poses and security. One of my favorite thing about Dutchie's homewares is their scale. They are actually average size (oh my!). And for you that really must be eight feet tall? They are modify :D.

Items are classic is style with modern touches. This writing desk has a long list of computer animations for example. Props appear via a pop-up and disappear when you change the pose. I thought this one particularly clever with crumpled paper on the ground. There is another getting ready to throw said paper wad. So appropriate for a writer.

So stop by the Dutchie display at Expo. It is difficult to miss. Just look for all the grapevines in Sim 2.

And now that we have embarked on a very brief tour, I would like to invite you to read more about Dutchie, the mansion and -- well, SL life at Prim Perfect Magazine. Scroll on over to page 13 and enjoy.

N-Twenty One

Perfect for Fall, the Chloe Door Seat Set from Cheeky Pea can be found at N-Twenty One (which honestly I have never heard of and will be over there checking it out as soon as I can - LOL).  I am guessing the idea is NOON on the 21st -- but then again I am often incorrect :D.

It matters not, you have the SLURL.

Adult and PG versions as well as a variety of string lights await you.

HGE Classics

A beautiful early morn over at the Home and Garden Expo, let's look at some of the big builds!   It is pretty difficult to miss this imposing mansion from Dutchie. Surrounded by a vast vineyard, it is easy to spot on the map in Home Expo 2.

The Prim Perfect castle in Home Expo 5 reminds us that fairy tales do come true -- at least in Second Life.

Scaling down a bit to one of the best bargains of the event IMHO, we have the Black Tulip Greenhouse which comes in two sizes (approximately 9 x 12 and 15 x 20).

The classic stone fence which coordinates very nicely is part of an extensive set including gate from By Dorian.

This is Morrighan from deviousMind for The Secret Affair. There are many styling options available. Breaking my minimalist rule because things are so lovely, you see almost all the piece of the set. There IS a really lovely jeweled pastie which did not make it into this shot.

The fitted mesh garment comes in a variety of colors and coordinates with the "Piume e Fiori" masks -- available at the same event.

Now boyish figured gals will be happy (Chic raises hand) as there is a version JUST for us. Yeah!

Happily I had some perfect shoes from lassitude & ennui -- Bound sandals for Slink Med.

Back To The Future

It's a futuristic world over at The Liaison Collaborative this month where the theme is technology.

There is a big set of futuristic furniture from   22769 ~ [bauwerk] . The Suspensor Set items come in white or black with great textures, subtle glow and a smooth look. There are many ways to purchase so read the vendors carefully. These are very nicely done!  One caveat though, they are designed for BIG avatars and are not resizable so be sure and try the demo to see if they fit your needs. For techie ambiance? They are perfect and I love the wall art.

From Atelier Visconti there is the Fountain Soul. This would be spectacular at a wedding (with aqua ties for the guys etc) or make a great dance prop. You could of course JUST put it in your garden -- well sure you could!

Being very much into niche products  -- both buying and making -- it wasn't too difficult to pick my favorite release of this round. Now not many of you NEED this, but I am very impressed, so I am showing you anyway. A great roll play prop, I think it is wonderful that some creators take the time to make items that aren't mainstream.

Look for the Soy booth.

Outlaw - Steamy Style

A different side of Steam from A Clockwork Spiral. This was fun to put together. Add a little night sky and some pretty special materials effects and you have this post.

Large photo on Flickr here.

Not all steamy gals wear ladylike buns; sometimes they are a bit more dangerous.

Outfit: The Little Bat Steam Outlaw (includes boots)

Pumpkin Season

We are coming up on October and that means pumpkin season. The typist LOVES pumpkin in all forms.  Out for Fifty Linden Friday from {what next} a mouth watering pie and pie slice. And of course you can SHARE your pie with guests as the tinned pie offers separate pieces when touched -- fork included.

Along with the ready to eat pie, you get a set of two pumpkins, one with pie recipe. These can easily be rotated to fit into other types of Fall decor.

HGE Finds

There are literally many hundreds of items to choose from at the Home and Garden Expo.  Here are a few that caught my eye. And, I should let you know that you can do your pre-shopping perusals on the website where many items are listed. Not everyone has been good little boys and girls though, so don't consider the listings ALL there is to see -- by any means! Each merchant has a full array of items for your shopping pleasure.

One of my favorite donation items is this Kaerri Garden Piano which comes WITH grass and all the plants. It isn't for those on a prim counting budget (27) but oh so cute. And if you ARE on a prim budget you can opt for the very cheery umbrella planter to the left. It weighs in at four.

You can rough it in style with this texture change cot from .:revival:., a fun store to explore. It comes with many animations for gals, guys and couples.

If you are lucky enough to never have to worry about land impact points, you might want to check out this impressive rockery at Heart Garden Center. Very lovely!

And that reminds me to remind you who DO need to be prim counters ---

there are many gorgeous items at the Expo that are not the least bit light on land impact points. It may be wise to check before you buy.  If you find the land impact is not given on the vendor, you can go to the BUILD menu and make sure that " Build - Options - Select On MY Objects" is NOT active. Then you can edit the item you are interested in and see the prim count.  Just a hint from your always land impact cautious guide.

And if you are looking for some seasonal color at "weekend" prices, check out the pottery vase and sticks at ChiC buildings. Four colors to choose from. Orange is the RFL donation item.

There is also an impressive hunt item to be had and a dollarbie in the store.

OK. I know this is a vendor photo but I have been working 10 hour days all week and I am TIRED.

The Secret Affair is packed full of  avant garde items as well as some tamer goodies for the less adventurous.  The theme is Melancholy/The Raven and each designer interprets it differently, as they should.

I of course love adventure -- well VIRTUAL adventure anyway.

This is one of the  "Piume e Fiori" masks from deviousMind. Beautifully made with plenty of detail and drama, there are thirteen masks in all. From classic to colorful, you won't really be gambling as they are all superb.

There are matching lower beaks as well as an extensive color change menu whose hues coordinate with the Morrighan featherdress.

Another Secret Affair item is this intricate Lethe necklace from lassitude & ennui. White and gold versions are also available.  Add those striking HIGH Slink heels I showed you last week and you hardly need to wear anything else.

Airship Princess

My Clockwork Spiral picks of the day include this buttery leather outfit (can't you just feel how soft it is) from DG Designs.  Airship Princess is an apt designation for this set which features full, day dress length ruffled skirt.

The Serpentine Optics from ~*Souzou Eien*~ offer a myriad of options via hud. Actually very easy to use, it would be best to have your coffee first as there are SO many options :D.  This set comes in left, right or dual optics form.

Home and Garden Expo RFL

Park Slope Townhouse by Thistle Homes

The Relay for Life Home and Garden Expo opens today.  From giant flower-filled pots to ultra modern homes, there is truly something for everyone. Log cabins, villas, fantasy builds and an impressive castle, it is easy to get lost in all there is to see.

There are nine sims to explore and one of the easiest ways NOT to get lost (yep, I still did when flying WITH the map open) is to find the info center for each sim. From there you can see the layout for that sim as well as tp directly to your favorite designers.

Don't miss the folks you DON'T know however; this is a great way to find new shops that reflect your style.

The sims are running well now, better than last year with less stressful trees in evidence, but still when opening time comes it is bound to get laggy. So, you know the drill. Dress down. Textures and minimal scripts are your friends. Turn off shadows and lower your draw distance. You really don't need to see the next sim -- or even the other half of the one you are on -- until you get there.

A Clockwork Spiral - Opens at SIX

Get ready - GO!

Well not so much. Word just out that opening will be delayed until six pm SL time.

So this post WAS going to have a landmark but will have to post without and I will update this eve.

Here you go!!!!!

This post features:

Ҝįтαş Şįđεşнøώ The Inventors Daughter top and skirt (various colors available)

* ~SongBird~ Engineer Goggles : Gun Metal (almost infinite colors by hud)

* {Rook} Gentlewoman's Cane (one of four pose and cane sets)

* *Atomic Faery* Lightning Nails (a perfect aqua match)

Hair: eXxEsS : TETA

From TAPI ORIGINAL MESH @ The Jewelry Fair, a big exclusive release of cuffs. Left and right, wrist and ankle they boast color change huds (gold, silver, pewter) for various parts of the design. Manual mod, these are one of the plainer versions as I, of course, am a minimalist type gal.

A Clockwork Spiral

This post comes to you from behind the scenes at A Clockwork Spiral where designers are setting up and I am feeling nostalgic big time. The event opens at noon on the 15th, and never fear I will be coming back to you with more goodies soon.

If you have been following along through the years you will remember that I spent part of a virtual decade in various Steampunk lands. I love the genre and the build at this event reminded me of those days.

This simply gorgeous long and ladylike Emmaline dress with so many details and yummy textures it makes your heart skip a beat (well mine anyway) is from Roawenwood. Matching shoes are available in both black and brown (regular feet). Note that this dress walks well and sizes are "true" in whatever SL sense of that might be *wink*. The top has a hud that let's you choose from four steamy colors.

There are plenty of familiar names at the event, some that you associate with the genre and others that may be joining in for a design experience. The products out so far are impressive and the Flickr pool leads me to believe that will continue.

While the charity event (National Kidney Association) is billed as Steam, Diesel and Dark Victoriana, there are cross over items to be had. These Lighting Nails (Slink) from Atomic Faery are a good example.  Many colors in the hud, I chose an appropriate steamy gold for this outfit.

Even if you just want to come and explore, know that this is a richly designed environment. Photo ops present themselves at every turn -- even while items in the next shop catch your eye.
