Best of Italian

I got a notecard that the Best of Italian sim was having a grand opening. Always nice to get some culture. The "do" doesn't start until 1 pm and then there will be a 24 hour hunt. I went over EARLY to beat the lag and enjoy the new sim with some personal space. This is BOTH a fashion and an art post as the shopping area is divided into those categories. So freebie links at the bottom if you want to scroll through.

If you have ever been an art student like I have, you will immediately figure out this photo. Such fun. Sit on the stand and take your picture AS a picture. This is right inside the gallery entrance on the left.

The galleries are very much like you would find in our material world, the paintings fairly large and fairly pricey (by Phil's standards). They were colorful and edgy and looked "real". This had me hoping that they were real life works by the same artists and not BORROWED from the Internet (sigh). As it turns out, this IS a gallery about bringing real world art into SL. My Italian is very bad but I found an office with English. Here's a picture.

The complex is huge with at least three floors. Some of the more interesting shops are actually VERY out of the way. Both the art and the clothing is medium to pricey. This reflects the rent in part. (I saw one lone "for rent" box with floating text.) As you might expect in most any mall type shopping, there is a mixture of really good looking, creative designs - and some not so much. It was fun to get a taste of a different culture.

SHOPPING

While "I" only bought a couple of items from stores I was impressed with, I did note all the free gifts and such and have landmarks for them below. EXCEPT for the items shown here, I did not TEST anything! Just so you know.

One shop I liked -- which also had free gifts -- was *heart code* -- BEST OF ITALIAN 75/95/23. The tank says "LOVE ?" in an arty design on the front. There is a HC small logo on the back (very tasteful to my mind). This would be a great top for layering as is a shirt layer. It looks very nice with the latex jacket from MECHANISM (see previous post). The other top is a plain short sleeved and fine knit sweater. Also a very good basic top to wear with other things. There are some wild and fun clothes at *heart code*. This is not their main shop it seems. Another LM is inside the bag. So explore one or both.

Another shop not far away is SLAG -- BEST OF ITALIAN 105/91/23. They have a set of cute bracelets (also logowear).

Here are some other LM to shops that have free or inexpensive items. I have NOT looked at these personally. They are just links for you to explore.
